Facebook: Corona virus affects the production of Oculus glasses

Facebook announced on Friday that the production of its Oculus virtual reality glasses will be affected by the recent epidemic of the Coronavirus, which affects companies dependent on Chinese utilities.

In early January, the world's largest social media company began preventing workers from traveling to China in the face of flu-like deaths.

A Facebook spokesman told Reuters: "Because of the Corona virus, we have started taking additional security measures to complicate this problem, so we expect additional impacts on production."

Facebook launched the updated Oculus Quest virtual reality headset for $ 399 in September 2018. The headset is equipped with a touch controller and can be used without a computer.

A spokesman for the company said: "The demand (for Oculus Coast) is already high and retailers in some regions are asking for more inventory once the available quantities are exhausted."
