Qualcomm officially launched the latest Quick Charge 5 technology

Qualcomm announced on Monday its new generation of Quick Charge 5 technology, which represents a major breakthrough compared to the current Quick Charge 4 technology.

The American company said in a statement: Quick Charge 5 technology supports a charging capacity of 100 watts and can maintain the battery temperature at about 10 degrees higher than Quick Charge 4 technology, and its transmission efficiency, increases by 70%.

According to the Qualcomm test, a 4,500mAh battery can charge from 0% to 50% in 5 minutes. It takes about 15 minutes to fully charge the battery. With dual charging, the battery is divided into two batteries and 2250 mAh connected in series to increase the voltage. The technology also supports triple charging.

Quick Charge 5 is based on the USB Power Delivery PPS standard, but from Quick Charge 2 and later versions, it also meets the standards of earlier versions. The technology can also be used with devices that support USB PD devices and standard Apple devices (such as iPhone 7 and later versions).

Qualcomm said: The system is also safer than the conventional energy standard. It contains 8-phase voltage protection, 3-phase current protection, 3-phase heat protection, 3-phase timing protection and 25-volt overvoltage protection. Volts

If the mobile phone uses the power delivery protocol to set its functions using the new technology, the charging controller used to charge the mobile phone internally does not depend on the charger. It measures its properties to determine the maximum current that can be connected when monitoring the temperature.

Qualcomm is expected to introduce new Quick Charge 5 technology for upcoming smartphones in the third quarter of this year. The manufacturer's available Transfer Control Chips are displayed: SMB1396 and MSB1398. It supports wired and wireless charging and can be used with one or two batteries, depending on the manufacturer's phone design.

It should be noted that the current (Snapdragon 865) and current (Snapdragon 865 Plus) processors support Quick Charge 5. However, this does not mean that processor phones can use this technology as the technology chipset requires.
