| The Android Auto platform can be used wirelessly for all mobile phones |
Google announced that every Android 11 mobile phone can establish a wireless connection with the so-called Android Auto platform.
The Android Auto platform appears to be very useful to drivers as all you have to do is connect your phone to a charger to connect it to the car's large touch screen. You can point the doctor's direction and listen to music from Spotify playlist or send text messages.
The search giant also has a simpler version that lets you connect wirelessly to your car stereo without having to take the phone out of your pocket, but only for Google and Samsung phones.
Google has now updated its Android Auto support page to indicate that all Android 11 smartphones can connect wirelessly to a compatible car entertainment system.
It also means that Android One phones (not Android Go) will be able to use the basic Android Auto wirelessly once the Android 11 update is available.
In addition to Google and Samsung, cell phones from manufacturers like LG, Motorola, and OnePlus can also get support when the official Android 11 release is released later this year.
However, there are certain conditions required for Android Auto 11 wireless support because you need an Android Auto phone and a device that supports 5GHz wireless network.
If you live in Japan or Russia then you cannot visit as google said: these regions do not support wireless (Android Auto) function.
According to Google, the European Union has different requirements: EU Android phones that use a 5GHz radio frequency network in the car have different legal requirements.
If you like the idea of wireless, you can also purchase a wireless charger as the phone will not charge when Android Auto is low on cash.
The tech giant launched a wireless mode for the Android Auto platform without a wired (USB) connection in 2018, but support for this feature is very limited.
Few cars currently offer wireless support (Android Auto), and last year Ford and BMW announced current and future models.
