According to a recent survey by Susan Bradley, web consultant and author of Askwoody.com, most IT professionals have found Microsoft's bi-annual update for Windows 10 to be closer to useless.

The survey found that nearly 60% of administrators felt the updates were very helpful (very helpful) and that the response came from the people in the organization responsible for Windows 10 maintenance.

Out of 500 respondents, only 20% said Windows 10 updates offer some value, while 22% are indifferent to Microsoft's efforts.

Microsoft spends a lot of time and energy organizing two Windows 10 updates every year. These updates will be released in the fall and spring. The latest version is Windows 10 2004.

Every version of Windows 10 is supported 18 months after launch. At the end of the course, administrators will need to update to the latest version to receive important security fixes, etc.

Regular updates aim to provide new functionality, improve user interface and improve security. However, IT professionals don't seem to think about much improvement.

One respondent said that the update mainly deals with maneuvers and window trims. Another respondent said, "You don't know why Microsoft thinks there are some new features that we or even your employees might find useful."

Others said: They believed the regular meeting hurt Microsoft and forced the company to release updates as planned, regardless of their merits.

Windows 10 update appears to be heading in the right direction, as data from a similar survey conducted by Bradley in 2018 showed that nearly 70% of IT employees did not agree to update services every two years.

It now appears that IT professionals are more receptive to updates than ever before, and the difference between administrators' opinions and Microsoft's respect for updates shows that the rethink is correct.
