Audi Sport launched the new Audi e-tron FE07 racing car, which will compete in the E-Class single-seat motorsports championship in 2021, exclusively dedicated to electric cars.

The car has the MGU05 electric gear set, developed by Audi Sport itself. The company said the e-tron racing car FE07 can achieve 95% fuel efficiency, ranging from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

"Motorsport has always been crucial to Audi and its technological development," said Alain MacNisch, team manager (Audi Sport), French sports car champion (Le Mans) and Formula 1 driver. “This is also our favorite slogan, 'Vorsprung durch Technik',” he added.

The new Audi adopts the MGU05 electric transmission, which is light, has only one gear and weighs less than 35 kg. The kit contains a high-efficiency cooling system, 6 electric stages and a high-speed internal rotor with surface magnets.

"The overall efficiency of the transmission is over 95%," said Audi Sport (Formula E) project manager (Tristan Summerskill). He added, "The efficiency of the new MGU is over 97% in all relevant driving conditions."

According to Audi Sport, the power of the MGU05 drivetrain is two times higher than that of the 250 kW (335 hp) petrol engine. "This clearly shows the efficiency of the electrical group in transmitting and transmitting signals," said Summerskal.

The e-tron FE07 will make its debut at the Ricardo Tomo circuit in Valencia, Spain this weekend to test its pre-season kit.

Meanwhile, the Chilean Formula E season 2021 begins in mid-January, and next year's Formula E season is the hottest year as it is the first certified series of the FIA World Championships.
