| Nokia launches the PureBook X14 laptop |
Finnish Nokia enters the Indian laptop market with its new Nokia PureBook X14.
The famous 155-year-old company makes products ranging from rubber and cables to phones and walkie-talkies and appears to be expanding into a new category.
The laptop was launched in partnership with Flipkart, an Indian e-commerce company owned by Wal-Mart. It appears to be a medium sized 14-inch computer aimed at casual users.
Flipkart got started getting excited about laptops last week. This is the first Nokia brand name laptop since the launch of the Nokia Booklet 3G in 2009.
The Nokia PureBook X14 costs $ 815, has a 14-inch screen, is powered by a 10th-generation Intel Core i5-10210U quad-core processor and has a clock speed of 4.2GHz.
The laptop runs on Windows 10 Home and has up to 512GB NVMe SSD storage and 8GB DDR4 RAM.
The Nokia PureBook X14 is Nokia's second discovery in the laptop category. The company released its first laptop, the Nokia Booklet 3G, over a decade ago.
The screen-to-body ratio is 86%, the viewing angle is 178 °, the Dolby Vision system to optimize color rendering, and the Dolby Atmos speakers are matte black.
It also has Windows Hello face unlock functionality and an integrated Intel UHD 620 GPU up to 1.1GHz.
The company offers Bluetooth 5.1, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 Type-A port, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, as well as an HDMI port and an Ethernet port for a computer.
The Nokie PureBook X14 weighs about 1.1 kg, can run continuously for up to 8 hours on a single charge, and has a backlit keyboard with adjustable brightness.
Nokia said: The launch of the Nokia brand for this new product category is evidence of our successful cooperation with Flipkart.
She added, "We are very excited to bring this Nokia branded mobile phone to Indian consumers. This brings innovation to bridge the gap in the market as well as style, performance and reliability of the Nokia brand."
The Nokia PureBook X14 will be ordered for the first time via Flipkart from December 18th.
