The flexible ePaper color screen can define the future of fashion

E Ink, in partnership with Plastic Logic, has created an ePaper display based on ACeP electronic color paper technology, a flexible electronic display for color changing.

When e-readers like Amazon Kindle hit the market, the world became interested in e-paper.

Many people think that electronic readers will replace traditional displays, making the technology easier for us, but that hasn't happened yet.

Electronic Ink Company E Ink is responsible for a new technology called ACeP, which is a high-quality color-reflective electronic paper that can reproduce the full color of every pixel without using a color filter matrix.

ACeP technology can help revitalize the alternative display industry. So far, ACeP has been mainly used for signage and does not require board flexibility.

The addition of Plastic Logic technology allows to expand applications that may require thinner and lighter displays.

Compared to conventional displays, ACeP monitors are a very low power consumption option. It can produce up to 32,000 colors, which gives it a huge advantage over most electronic papers, which is only displayed in black and white.

E Ink is now partnering with the plastic logo to create ePaper displays for use in garments as designers search for new ways to make clothes greener without sacrificing fashion sense.

EPaper screens can be the perfect answer as they allow people to change the look of clothes and designers can add such screens to smart clothing and jewelry.

The two companies jointly developed a bio-glass-free panel that is lighter, thinner and more durable than traditional electronic paper displays.

Plastic Logic's glass-free oTFT thin film transistor display provides high accuracy, low weight and low energy consumption.

It's also more durable than standard glass-based TFT displays, it's thinner and lighter, making it ideal for applications like mobile devices.

Plastic Logic's first Legio card has a resolution of 2.1 inches with a resolution of 240 x 146 pixels, supports six colors, including black and white, and is supported by the Ultrachip UC8156 single-chip controller.
