As the successor to the Mi Reader that was released in November last year, the Chinese company Xiaomi has launched a new reader called Mi Reader Pro.

The device has a screen that supports e-ink and is very convenient for reading. Because it does not cause eye strain like regular cell phones or tablets.

The screen size is 7.8 inches, the resolution is 1878 x 1404 pixels, the pixel density is 300 pixels per inch, the reading lamp can be adjusted, and the color level can be adjusted.

Screen clarity appears to be the main goal for improvement as Amazon Kindle 2019 has a density of 167 pixels per inch while Kindle Paperwhite 2018 has a density of 300 pixels per inch.

The company gave the device 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and a color option.

Mi Reader Pro can be used with the Android 8.1 operating system. You get 24 levels of color customization so that you can choose different shades according to your living environment.

The device contains a quad-core processor with a 3200 mAh battery and supports 10W charging.

Connectivity options include dual-band wireless and Bluetooth 5.0, plus an EPDC controller that makes it easy to turn pages and reduce power consumption.

The ebook reader has a size of 192.1 x 138.6 x 7mm, weighs only 251g, and supports voice search, reading of Baidu Cloud and WeChat.

The device also supports multiple file formats including txt, epub, pdf, xlsx, ppt and doc. You can also use WiFi or USB connection to transfer books to Mi Reader Pro.

Mi Reader Pro from Xiaomi costs around $ 170 and comes in one color (black). It can be purchased through Xiaomi's Youpin crowdfunding platform.

The company has not yet released detailed information on international availability.

According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi e-book reader is equipped with a reading lamp with a 24-level tone setting, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, an Allwinner quad-core processor and a 212 pixel screen per thumb.
