Sony launches Xperia Pro for $ 2,500

Sony released the Xperia Pro for $ 2,500. In other words, you can buy two Xperia 1 II or three Galaxy S21 devices.

Xperia Pro is the first Sony smartphone with 5G technology to be launched in the United States.

Sony's target users are professional device users who want to use HDMI inputs to convert their phones into external camera displays and quickly download footage or live broadcasts over 5G connections.

Sony said: There are currently no plans to launch Xperia Pro in Europe.

Not only does the Xperia Pro offer HDMI input and 5G support in the US, but it's also very similar to last year's Xperia 1 II.

This phone could be paired with a Snapdragon 865 processor that has a 4000 mAh battery. On the back there is the same 12-megapixel camera, telephoto camera, and an ultra-wide camera with an 8-megapixel front camera.

The phone has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of expandable storage.

The Xperia Pro also includes a 6.5-inch OLED HDR display with an aspect ratio of 9: 21. Sony describes it as 4K, but in fact its resolution is lower than the 4K resolution of 3840 x 1644 pixels.

The price of the Xperia 1 II is $ 1,200, and the Xperia Pro is more than double that, but Sony said: Support for fifth generation networks and HDMI inputs can be very beneficial to users.

The HDMI port is on the bottom of the phone, the USB-C port on the Xperia 1 II is present, and the USB-C port on the new device is still at the bottom but has been moved to the left.

Sony said: The phone can stream 4K HDR video at 60 frames per second and can be used with any camera that has an HDMI output.

In practical terms, this means that you connect your phone to the camera's HDMI output and you can clearly see everything you record through the larger screen.

You can click to enlarge the image on the screen or overlay the gridlines to frame the image.

The Xperia Pro can stream screenshots from the HDMI input directly to YouTube and supports StreamLabs and StreamYard for streaming to other platforms like Twitch and Facebook Live.

This phone supports both Sub-6GHz and mmWave. Sony claims to have a unique antenna array with four unique directions for improved reception.

There is also a built-in web app that displays your upload and download speeds in real time and helps you find the best place to get the signal.

Camera connectivity also extends to photo sharing, as a wired USB connection between the Alpha 7S III camera and Xperia Pro enables faster image transfer.

Other notable features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, special keyboard shortcuts, IP68 water resistance, dust resistance, stereo speakers, and Android 10.

Since the hype of this phone began early last year, Sony has confirmed that this device is intended for business users and that its price of $ 2,500 has become more apparent than ever.
