Sony will not produce the Vision-S concept car

Sony is committed to owning a future self-driving car called the Vision-S, and many people are hoping that it will show some kind of production intent.

Sony recently confirmed that it has no plans to manufacture or sell the Vision-S to consumers and that it will not become a carmaker. Vision-S is a platform for independent technology testing and PlayStation car experience.

Vision-S was developed by leveraging Sony's technology and knowledge across a wide range of companies, from cameras to computers to entertainment.

Although there will be no Vision-S in the future, the positive side is that the project may bring self-driving cars in the future that include PlayStation entertainment features and enhanced audio.

The latest hint of the Vision-S concept came from an all-digital CES show earlier this month.

At the exhibition, Sony showed a video testing the Vision-S on public roads to improve safety.

This leads a lot of people to believe that this means that Sony has at least one intention to produce such cars.

Cars and Drivers magazine reported that a Sony spokesperson called them and said: The company currently has no plans to mass produce or sell the cars.

The spokesman mentioned that the Japanese company Sony is currently studying how to make major contributions in the era of driverless driving, which is expected to be the main trend in the future.

To deal with autonomous driving, 40 sensors, including four LEDs, are currently being used as part of Safety Cocoon, which can simultaneously monitor indoor and outdoor areas and create a 360-degree panoramic view.

Currently there is a Level +2 driver support software package available, but Sony hopes to update it to Level 4. With the software upgrade, it can in most cases drive itself driverlessly.

In terms of entertainment, the company talks about 360 Reality Audio, which uses speakers in the headrest to create a sound field around the heads of all passengers and improve the sound for everyone in the car.

The long-term goal seems to be to add a PlayStation connected 5G to the car for online play. Sony plans to continue testing its progress and sharing it with the vehicle.

The self-driving cars of the future may take us far, and passengers can relax, enjoy the sights and play PlayStation games.

It is certainly not surprising that Sony has no intention of becoming a car maker, but many people want to produce the Vision-S and it should be noted that today's term definitely does not exclude the possibility of production.
