The Gucci brand has infiltrated virtual luxury shoes thanks to a pair of exclusive new digital sneakers called Virtual 25 that can be worn in AR or in partner apps like Roblox and VRChat.

Gucci sneakers usually sell for over $ 500, but this week the luxury fashion giant started selling digital shoes for $ 12.99.

Surprisingly, this pair of shoes is much cheaper than regular Gucci shoes as you can buy Virtual 25 on the Gucci app for $ 12.99 or the Wanna Kicks sneaker app for $ 8.99.

The Virtual 25 shoe was designed by creative director Gucci Alessandro Michele (Alessandro Michele) and features a green and pink intense look that may not be suitable for everyone.

Like all Gucci clothing, this pair also carries the iconic GC logo, in this case by means of an inflatable sole and tongue, and can only be worn in augmented reality and virtual reality.

This shoe was developed in collaboration with Wanna, a company that specializes in providing augmented reality technology for marketing, and has its own app to try out sneakers virtually.

Virtual 25 costs $ 8.99 on Wanna. However, if you want the original downloadable to display the shoes in other apps like Roblox or VRChat, you should buy it from Gucci for $ 12.99.

As NFTs become more popular, so has the appetite for digital collectibles. Although there is no blockchain technology here, Gucci shoes have an edge over most NFTs here because they are not only private tokens, but they are also used.

These shoes represent Gucci's first digital model, but the brand is no stranger to in-app purchases.

The fashion house has been selling digital arcade games in its app and has been introducing augmented reality functions since January with which customers can actually try out sneakers and watches.

The brand became famous for its digital innovations earlier this year, launching Pokemon GO characters in Gucci x North Face outfits near retail stores.
