iOS 15.4 lets you disable shortcut automation notifications

Apple added a toggle to the Shortcuts app in iOS 15.4 that allows users to turn off personal automation notifications that users create on their devices when they are opened to automate selected shortcuts.

Shortcuts automation is one of the most useful and powerful tools Apple offers to its users.

This feature allows users to set basic status triggers for different situations on iPhone. Whether it's a certain time of day, visiting a website, receiving an email or SMS from a specific contact, connecting to a network wirelessly, using an NFC tag, opening an app, or when your phone reaches a certain battery life.

Abbreviations can be useful if used correctly. It allows actions like turning off notifications when the Kindle app is open, so you can read with peace of mind. Or turn on the power saving mode automatically when your phone battery is less than 50%. Or disable the rotation lock when opening the Apple TV app to properly watch shows in full screen mode.

However, Apple has made the feature unavailable for common tasks by creating a mandatory notification when the condition is triggered.

The new update addresses this issue by adding a switch that allows users to turn off these notifications. This makes the Apple Shortcuts automation more useful for everyday tasks. It does this by blocking unwanted notifications that pop up every time you open it.

To turn off notifications, simply tap on "Auto" and turn off the new "Notify me while playing" toggle that appears when you're using the latest iOS 15.4 beta.

You must do this for each notification. But once it is properly configured, the automatic shortcut notification shade will not bother you again.

iOS 15.4 adds a bunch of new emoji

Note that the new setting only applies to automation-specific hotkeys, not all hotkeys. This means that some shortcuts (such as custom iOS icon shortcuts) will continue to play pop-up notifications when they are activated.

If you use Shortcuts as a workaround to customize iOS icons, it is currently not possible to block notification popups when you open an app in this way.

iOS 15.4 also adds the ability to use Face ID while wearing a mask on new iPhones. Tons of new emojis.

The update is currently in public beta. But it should be widely disseminated in the coming weeks.
