Microsoft is testing new beta features for Windows 11

Microsoft has detailed its plans to test its latest operating system, Windows 11, throughout 2022. This comes after last week's announcement that Windows 11 would get a larger-than-usual update in February with an Android app, taskbar improvements, and more.

The software maker plans to conduct more feature testing with Windows 11 testers to evaluate features that may never appear.

As part of this ongoing evolution, Blueprint subscribers see our growing reliance on the development pipeline as a place to incubate new ideas, explore key elements, and monitor the validity of individual traits.

"In some cases, these concepts are never released. But we can improve the experience and offer solutions in Windows that allow customers to do more with greater expertise," she added.

Tests like these already exist, and a subset of Windows Insiders can access a feature before Microsoft rolls it out more broadly to testers.

However, the functional differences may not be fully documented by Microsoft in the future.

Every time Microsoft releases a new version, Windows fans search for new features by using tabs in the operating system to activate hidden functions and see what the company is trying.

Microsoft explains what Windows 11 does

“We learned that some of our technology testers discovered that some features in our build were intentionally disabled,” Langowski said. In these cases, we're moving features we've intentionally enabled so that testers can try to provide feedback.

With the advent of beta features, the Windows 11 developer channel is also getting closer to the naming. This will bring the Beta Channel functionality as close to everyone as possible. This could mean that new features appear first in the beta channel as their rollout approaches.

The company is now planning to give Windows 11 testers a way to transition from the developer channel to the beta channel. This is to avoid more experimental features.

This may coincide with a feature released in February. It includes support for the Android app, changes to the taskbar, the Notepad app, and a redesigned media player.
