- HELPFUL HINT: Calibration is required for first time use. After installing the batteries, place the scale on a non-carpeted floor, press the scale to turn it on, and let it turn off. Follow these guidelines when moving the scale. We also recommend that you measure your weight and wear similar clothing for best results. Note that weight can change throughout the day.
