| Instagram is testing a new feature similar to BeReal |
Instagram is currently internally testing a feature that asks users to take random selfies, similar to the social media photo app BeReal.
This new Instagram feature, discovered by popular developer and leaker Alessandro Paluzzi, is called IG Candid Challenges.
Similar to BeReal, IG Candid sends notifications to users at random times of the day asking them to take pictures with the front and back cameras. The resulting images are then shared in their stories.
An Instagram spokesperson confirmed to Engadget that the feature is still in its original version, and that's it.
There's no indication when IG Candid will launch public testing, or whether it will reach that point.
