The most common Android phone battery problems and how to fix them

It is normal for an Android phone to have battery issues for a while after you have purchased it, but it is not normal for a recently purchased Android phone to have these issues and it is time to find ways to fix it.

Whether your phone is charging very slowly or your battery is draining very quickly, there are several ways to fix these common battery problems on Android phones which we explain below:

1- Charging very slowly:

If your Android phone is charging very slowly, then there is most likely an issue with the charging port, cable, or adapter. You can try a different adapter and cable and try cleaning the charging port. If your phone supports fast charging, make sure that the charger can supply the power needed to charge your phone or more.

For example, if your phone supports 30W charging and you are using a 20W charger, the phone will charge at 20W and it will take longer to finish charging. And if you use a 40W charger, the phone can charge up to 30W.

2- The delivery was slower than expected

You may have a phone that supports fast charging, but it's not charging as quickly as you'd expect. Once you have checked the adapter, cable, and charging port, you may encounter another problem that you can solve in two ways:

  • Enable Safe Mode: Safe mode prevents third party apps from running and if it is caused by a system issue, enabling it can fix the slow loading issue.
  • Charging while the phone is off: If the charging issue persists after restarting the phone or entering safe mode, you can try charging the phone while the phone is turned off. This only works on some devices because many Android phones do not allow charging when turned off.

3- Batteries run out quickly:

Heavy use can drain your phone's battery quickly, but if you rarely use your phone and your battery is draining faster than usual, here are some things you can try to fix:

Follow these steps to check which apps are consuming your battery:

  1. Go to Settings (Settings).
  2. Select Battery then Battery Usage. It shows you a list of the apps you're using and how much battery those apps are using, letting you know which apps are using the most battery power.
  3. Click on any of these applications and click on the (Force Stop) option to disable them temporarily. You can also set the app's status to "optimized" or "limited" to save the app's battery consumption when you're not using your phone.

Follow the steps below to enable Adaptive Brightness Mode and Battery Saver Mode:

  • To enable Adaptive Brightness Mode: Go to Settings, then View and enable Adaptive Brightness.
  • To enable Battery Saver: Go to Settings, then Battery, then Battery Saver and enable Use Battery Saver.

4- Android phone battery swelling:

If your cell phone battery becomes swollen or swollen after a short period of time, you should stop using the cell phone immediately, keep the cell phone away from flammable people and objects, and do not charge the cell phone. Then you should contact a specialized cell phone repair shop or contact the cell phone manufacturer to replace the battery.

5- Battery overheating:

Android phone battery overheating issues are relatively common and the solutions are often complex. The first step is to determine the cause and find the appropriate solution. Here are the most common causes of a high battery temperature:

  • Overheating while playing:

If your phone gets hot while playing games, there are several things you can try. In most cases, you need to change some settings related to the game to reduce power consumption.

In most modern games, you can use the Options menu to change the frame rate and screen resolution, reduce overheating, choose a refresh rate of 30fps, and set the screen resolution to the lowest available setting.

  • Overheating when using normal applications:

Poorly optimized apps and apps running in the background can cause overheating. You may need to uninstall apps that are not optimized. You can determine the background activity of the application by opening (Settings), then selecting the application and clicking on the name of the application in question. Next, tap on "Battery" and select the "Limited" option that appears in the "Manage battery usage" section.

  • Overheating while charging:

Phones tend to overheat while charging due to faulty cables, connectors, or adapters. Try swapping out cables and adapters and cleaning USB ports. If that doesn't work, you can also try charging your Android phone while it's turned off or not using the phone while it's charging.
