Vivo X200 FE Breaks Cover With Unique Specs, Confirms It’s Not Just a Rebranded X200 Pro Mini

The smartphone rumor mill has been buzzing for weeks about Vivo’s upcoming X200 FE, with many assuming it would simply be a rebadged version of the X200 Pro Mini. However, an exclusive spec sheet leak has now put those rumors to rest, revealing that the X200 FE is a distinct device with significant upgrades tailored for budget-conscious enthusiasts.

According to a report by Smartprix, which obtained detailed specifications ahead of the phone’s July debut in India, the X200 FE diverges sharply from the X200 Pro Mini in key areas like performance, camera hardware, and battery tech. The leak, embedded here, confirms that Vivo is positioning the FE (“Fan Edition”) as a standalone model rather than a recycled variant.

What’s Under the Hood?
The X200 FE reportedly packs a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, a step up from the X200 Pro Mini’s Dimensity 7050. This aligns with Vivo’s strategy to prioritize raw power in the FE lineup, which traditionally targets gamers and multitaskers. The device is also said to include 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, both upgrades over the Pro Mini’s 8GB RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

The display specs further highlight the differences. While the Pro Mini features a 6.5-inch AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, the X200 FE reportedly sports a larger 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a variable 120Hz refresh rate—a premium feature rarely seen in mid-range devices.

Camera Upgrades Steal the Show
The camera system is where the X200 FE truly stands apart. Instead of reusing the Pro Mini’s 50MP primary sensor, the FE is rumored to debut Vivo’s new 64MP Sony IMX766 lens with OIS and a wider f/1.7 aperture. It’s paired with a 12MP ultrawide shooter and a 5MP macro lens, a noticeable improvement over the Pro Mini’s 8MP ultrawide setup.

“Vivo is clearly leveraging its partnership with Zeiss for the FE’s imaging algorithms,” notes the Smartprix report, pointing to features like motion-tracking autofocus and enhanced night mode.

Battery and Charging: No Compromises
The X200 FE’s 5,100mAh battery outshines the Pro Mini’s 4,800mAh capacity, and it supports 80W wired charging (versus 67W on the Mini). Wireless charging, however, remains exclusive to Vivo’s flagship models.

Why This Isn’t a Rebadged Device
Beyond specs, the X200 FE’s design language diverges too. Leaked renders show a flatter frame and a redesigned camera module with a dual-tone finish, a departure from the Pro Mini’s curved edges and minimalist aesthetic. Software-wise, the FE will ship with Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14, featuring custom optimizations for the Dimensity 8300 chip.

India Launch and Market Strategy
Vivo plans to debut the X200 FE in India in July, with a starting price expected under ₹35,000 (~$420). This aggressive pricing, coupled with its upgrades, positions it against rivals like the Nothing Phone (2a) and Xiaomi’s Redmi K70e. Industry analysts suggest Vivo aims to capture India’s booming mid-range segment, where consumers demand flagship-like specs without premium price tags.

Availability and Early Offers
While pre-orders are yet to open, the device will likely hit shelves by late July. Interested buyers can check availability on Amazon here, where early bird discounts and bank offers are anticipated.

Final Thoughts
The X200 FE’s leaked specs confirm Vivo’s commitment to reinventing the “Fan Edition” concept. By refusing to cut corners and delivering meaningful upgrades over the Pro Mini, the company is setting a new benchmark for mid-range smartphones. If the final product lives up to these leaks, the X200 FE could become a rare device that truly bridges the gap between affordability and high-end performance.
