Vivo Takes Aim at the Mid-Range ANC Market with Surprise TWS Air3 Pro Launch

SHENZHEN, June 26, 2025 – In a move that caught audio enthusiasts off-guard, Vivo today unveiled its TWS Air3 Pro earbuds, packing premium features like Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Bluetooth 6.0 into an affordable "Endurance Edition" design. Positioned as a disruptor in the crowded mid-range market, the Air3 Pro promises studio-quality sound without the studio price tag.

Breaking Down the Tech

The headline feature is Vivo’s proprietary "Ultra-Quiet ANC" system, which uses dual-microphone beamforming to cancel up to 42dB of ambient noise – a rare spec at this price point. During a closed demo, the earbuds effectively muted coffee shop chatter and subway rumble, rivaling competitors twice their price.

Bluetooth 6.0 ensures latency drops to 88ms, making these ideal for gamers and binge-watchers. The drivers feature 12.2mm bio-diaphragm units tuned by Vivo’s audio team, with support for LDAC high-res codecs on compatible Android devices.

The "Endurance Edition" Edge

True to its name, the Air3 Pro delivers marathon battery life:

  • 9 hours on a single charge (ANC off)
  • 30 hours total with the compact case
  • 5-minute quick charge = 2 hours playback

The semi-in-ear design weighs just 4.3g per bud, with IP54 sweat resistance for workouts. Four color options debut: Starry Black, Frost Blue, and limited-edition Jade White and Sunset Orange.

Pricing and Availability

Starting at ¥399 (approx. $55), the Air3 Pro undercuts rivals like Huawei FreeBuds 5i and Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro. Two models are available:

Why It Matters

Analysts note Vivo’s aggressive timing – the launch precedes Apple’s rumored budget AirPods Lite. "They’re democratizing ANC," says TechRadar China’s audio editor Ming Zhao. "For students or commuters, this could be a game-changer."

Pre-orders open today, with first shipments expected July 10. Vivo confirmed global availability will follow in Q3, though pricing may vary.
