Xiaomi Poco F7 Shocks Fans, Matches Flagship F7 Pro Performance in New Benchmark

In an unexpected twist, Xiaomi’s upcoming budget contender, the Poco F7, has reportedly equaled the performance of its pricier sibling—the Poco F7 Pro—in a critical Geekbench test. The revelation, spotted on Geekbench’s official database, shows both devices scoring nearly identical results, raising questions about the Pro model’s value proposition.

The base Poco F7 (model Xiaomi 25053PC47I), believed to be the Indian variant, logged a single-core score of 1,890 and a multi-core score of 4,812 on Geekbench 6.2. These figures place it within a razor-thin margin of the F7 Pro’s earlier benchmark, which scored 1,899 (single-core) and 4,820 (multi-core).

What’s Under the Hood?

Industry insiders attribute the parity to identical Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipsets powering both devices. While the Pro model was expected to leverage superior cooling or higher clock speeds, the benchmark suggests Xiaomi may have standardized core performance across the lineup. The F7 also matched the Pro’s 12GB RAM configuration in this test.

Geekbench Results Comparison:

  • Poco F71,890 / 4,812
  • Poco F7 Pro: 1,899 / 4,820 (via previous leaks)

Why This Matters

The discovery, first highlighted by XpertPick, challenges the F7 Pro’s premium positioning. Historically, "Pro" models boasted 15–20% performance gains, but this generation’s gap appears negligible. Sources speculate Xiaomi prioritized cost efficiency, possibly reserving the Pro’s upgrades for camera hardware or display enhancements instead.

Pricing and Availability

With the Poco F7 expected to launch at ₹25,999 (~$310) and the F7 Pro rumored near ₹35,999 (~$430), the benchmark fuels skepticism about the Pro’s ₹10,000 premium. Both phones will debut in India next month, followed by global markets.

Pre-order alerts: Early listings suggest the F7 will hit Amazon India first. Track availability here.

The Bigger Picture

While synthetic benchmarks don’t reflect real-world experience (battery optimization, thermal throttling, camera software), this leak pressures Xiaomi to justify the F7 Pro’s upgrades. If performance is a wash, buyers may flock to the standard F7 for its aggressive pricing—potentially reshaping the mid-range hierarchy.

Stay tuned for official specs at the July 12 launch event.

Correction: An earlier version misstated the F7 Pro’s chipset. Both models use Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
