If you’ve ever thought, "I should really go back to the Commonwealth," Bethesda just gave you the ultimate reason. In a move that feels both nostalgic and brilliantly strategic, the studio has officially given Fallout 4 the "Skyrim treatment," announcing a comprehensive Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition during its annual Fallout Day celebration on October 23rd.
This isn't just a simple re-release. Mirroring the successful model of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition, this new package is designed to be the definitive way to experience the post-apocalyptic Boston wasteland, bundling an unprecedented amount of content into a single, streamlined experience.
What's Inside the Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition?
For new players, the Anniversary Edition is the perfect starting point. For veterans, it’s a compelling reason to dust off your Power Armor. The core package includes:
- The complete base game of Fallout 4.
- All six official DLCs: Automatron, Far Harbor, Nuka-World, Wasteland Workshop, Contraptions Workshop, and Vault-Tec Workshop.
- A massive collection of over 150 Creation Club add-ons.
This last point is the real game-changer. The Creation Club content transforms the game, adding a huge array of new items and quests that were previously only available as individual purchases. We’re talking about unique weapons, stunning sets of Power Armor, Pip-Boy skins, new outfits, and even fun alternate breeds for your loyal canine companion, Dogmeat.
To manage all this new content, Bethesda is also introducing a brand-new, streamlined Creations menu. This interface, heavily inspired by the one in Skyrim's Anniversary Edition, makes discovering, downloading, and playing community-made and official add-ons smoother than ever before.
A New Vegas Surprise for Collectors
While the community was abuzz with hopes for a Fallout 5 teaser (Todd Howard did tease more unannounced Fallout projects are in the works), the broadcast delivered a different kind of surprise for fans of the Mojave.
Bethesda also unveiled the Fallout: New Vegas: 15th Anniversary Bundle, a premium collector's edition that’s a love letter to one of the most beloved entries in the series. This bundle is a physical collector's dream, but it comes with a catch for console players—it's for PC only.
Priced at $154.99 USD, the bundle includes a digital download code for Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition (which includes the base game and all its DLCs: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, Gun Runners’ Arsenal, and Courier’s Stash). The real value, however, is in the physical collectibles, which are housed in a gorgeous throwback-style box:
- An 8-inch PVC statue of Victor the Securitron
- A 1.5-inch Vault Boy enamel pin
- A set of Doc Mitchell’s psych evaluation cards on 7x7 cardstock
- A woven iron-on Mojave Express Patch
- A New California Republic (NCR) patch
Pre-orders for this premium New Vegas bundle are now live exclusively at the Bethesda Gear Store.
Release Dates, Pricing, and Upgrade Paths
So, when can you get your hands on all this content?
- Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is set to launch on November 10, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X.
- A port for the Nintendo Switch 2 is also in the works, with a planned release sometime in 2026.
Bethesda has been tight-lipped on the full pricing for the Anniversary Edition, but they have confirmed a path for existing owners. If you already own Fallout 4 on any platform, an "Anniversary Upgrade" pack will be available for purchase. This is great news for players who accessed the game through services like Game Pass or PS Plus, as they can buy the upgrade to get all the DLC and Creations content without buying the full game again.
For all the official details straight from the source, you can read the full announcement on the Bethesda.net blog here.
While we wait for more details on pricing, one thing is clear: Bethesda is ensuring that the world of Fallout remains as vibrant as ever. Whether you're a Sole Survivor ready to return to the Commonwealth or a Courier feeling nostalgic for the Mojave, 2025 is shaping up to be a very good year for fans of the series.
