Motorola Edge 70 Leaks Reveal a Radical Design Overhaul and Global Pricing

The rumor mill is in overdrive, and a brand new Motorola smartphone is at the center of it all. Fresh leaks have not only given us our clearest look yet at the device but have also seemingly confirmed its global ambitions and a potential price tag that could shake up the mid-range flagship segment.

Just earlier this week, Lenovo began teasing that new Motorola hardware was on the way. At the time, the focus was on a device called the Moto X70 Air, confirmed for a release in China later this month. But the story has gotten much bigger, and it appears the company is preparing for a worldwide launch under a different, more familiar name.

According to a comprehensive new leak, the Moto X70 Air and the highly anticipated Motorola Edge 70 are, in fact, the very same device. This revelation points to a significant global strategy for Motorola's next flagship contender.

A New Leak Gives Us the Full Picture

The most substantial information comes from a detailed report by Ytechb, which has provided a gallery of high-quality renders that leave little to the imagination. The leaked images showcase a device that represents a dramatic departure from Motorola's recent design language.

You can see the full set of detailed renders in Ytechb's exclusive report.

Aligning with this visual evidence is a post from renowned leaker Evan Blass, who previously hinted at the device's color options. The convergence of these leaks paints a clear and exciting picture of what to expect.

A Bold, Flat Design Departure

One of the most immediate takeaways from the leaked images is the design. Motorola is moving decisively away from the curved displays and subtle camera islands that have defined recent models like the popular Edge 60 Pro.

Instead, the Motorola Edge 70 appears to feature a completely flat display—a welcome change for many who prefer the practicality and feel of flat screens. The camera housing has also undergone a major overhaul. It's now a prominent, raised rectangular module that gives the phone a distinct, confident look. This isn't a subtle evolution; it's a statement.

Camera Specs and Pantone-Perfected Colors

While a full spec sheet is still under wraps, the leaks have highlighted some key camera features. The rear system is shown to be led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, complete with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for sharper photos and smoother video. It's joined by an ultra-wide-angle camera that boasts an expansive 120-degree field of view, perfect for capturing landscapes and large group shots.

On the aesthetics front, Motorola's partnership with Pantune continues. Ytechb states the device will be offered in "Pantone Gadget Gray" and "Pantone Lily Pad." However, as seen in this post from Passionate Geekz on X (formerly Twitter), which references Evan Blass's earlier leak, a third colorway called "Pantone Bronze Green" is also expected to be part of the lineup, offering a sophisticated, nature-inspired hue.

Global Launch and The Big Question: Price

Perhaps the most exciting news for international fans is the strong suggestion of a global release. While the device was initially teased as the "Moto X70 Air" for China, all current evidence points to it launching worldwide as the Motorola Edge 70.

As for when it will arrive, a global release date remains a mystery. But the question of cost is beginning to come into focus. Tipster Paras Guglani has suggested that the Edge 70 could launch with a price of around €690 (approximately $809) for a high-end configuration featuring 12GB of RAM and a generous 512GB of internal storage.

If this price holds true, it would position the Edge 70 as a compelling alternative in the competitive space between premium mid-rangers and ultra-expensive flagships. For context, the current model, the Motorola Edge 60 Pro, remains a strong seller with its curved display and capable camera system.

The stage is set for a fascinating launch. With a bold new design, capable camera hardware, and a global strategy, the Motorola Edge 70 is shaping up to be one of the most interesting smartphone releases of the season. We'll be keeping a close eye on any official announcements from Motorola.
