The rumor mill is beginning to churn for Xiaomi's next generation of performance-focused smartphones, and the latest leaks are giving us a clearer picture of what to expect from the global market. Fresh details have surfaced online concerning the Poco F8 Pro, specifically its battery capacity and charging speed, hinting at a modest but meaningful upgrade over its predecessor.
The information comes from seasoned leaker Kacper Skrzypek, who has shed light on how the Poco F8 Pro will fit into Xiaomi's broader smartphone lineup. For context, the current Poco F7 Pro was announced in March of this year. Given Xiaomi's typical yearly release cycle for its high-end Poco devices, a launch for the Poco F8 Pro or a potential Poco F8 Ultra isn't expected until Spring 2026.
However, it seems the software may be spilling the beans early. The upcoming HyperOS 3 is reportedly already containing clues about the unannounced Poco F8 series. This follows a similar leak about the Poco F8 Ultra just yesterday, and now the focus has turned to the Pro model.
A Familiar Strategy with a Larger Battery
According to the evidence shared by Skrzypek, the Poco F8 Pro is believed to be the global variant of the Redmi K90. But in a move that will feel familiar to Poco fans, the global model appears to be getting a slightly different battery specification than its Chinese counterpart.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Skrzypek revealed that the Poco F8 Pro will not launch with the massive 7,100 mAh battery found in the Redmi K90. Instead, mirroring the strategy used with the Poco F7 Pro, the global version will feature a capped capacity.
Specifically, code within HyperOS 3 indicates that Xiaomi will equip the Poco F8 Pro with a 6,210 mAh battery. While this is less than the Chinese model, it still represents a 3.5% (or 210 mAh) increase over the 6,000 mAh cell in this year's Poco F7 Pro. Faster Charging to Compensate
The news isn't all about capacity, though. The leak also suggests a welcome boost in charging speed. The Poco F8 Pro is expected to see a jump from 90W wired charging to 100W wired charging. This combination of a larger battery and faster charging should, in theory, lead to improved all-day battery life and significantly reduced downtime when you do need to plug in.
This leak aligns with the gradual refinement we often see in smartphone lineups. While not a revolutionary change, the move to a 6,210 mAh battery and 100W charging would position the Poco F8 Pro as a compelling option for power users when it eventually arrives in early 2026.
