The wait for Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 15 series to hit global markets has been filled with anticipation since its debut in China last August. While an official international launch is imminent, a detailed leak from a European retailer may have just spoiled the surprise, revealing not only the potential specifications but also some significant changes—and a few disappointments—compared to the Chinese models.
According to the leak, which was first reported by YTechB, the global variants are set for some notable reconfigurations, particularly for the flagship Pro+ model.
Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Global Version: Camera & Battery Take a Hit
The global Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is tipped to retain the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset as its Chinese sibling, a win for performance. However, it’s expected to start with 8GB of RAM instead of 12GB, a move recently hinted at by a Geekbench listing.
The more significant changes appear on the back of the phone. The global Pro+ is reported to sport a 200MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro sensor. This triple-camera setup notably omits the telephoto lens found in the Chinese version, which was a key upgrade highlight for the series.
Perhaps the most surprising downgrade is in the battery department. The leak suggests the international model will pack a 6,500 mAh battery, a substantial step down from the massive 7,000 mAh unit available in China. On a brighter note, charging speeds might see a slight bump from 90W to 100W. For those looking to maximize that fast charging, a compatible option like the 100W Ugreen Nexode charger is currently available on Amazon.
A deeper dive into the specifications and images can be found in the comprehensive report from GSMArena.
Pro & Standard Models: A Mixed Bag of Upgrades and Downgrades
The leak also sheds light on the non-Plus models, revealing a strategic reshuffle of features.
The global Redmi Note 15 Pro is said to inherit the same camera system as the Pro+ (200MP + 8MP + 2MP). This would actually be an upgrade over the Chinese Pro model’s camera. However, it reportedly comes at the cost of a smaller 6,580 mAh battery.
As for the standard Redmi Note 15, the global version might get a camera boost with a 108MP primary sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide, an improvement over the Chinese variant. Yet again, the battery is slated for a reduction, from 5,800 mAh to 5,520 mAh.
Leaked European Pricing Structure
Alongside the specs, the retailer listing revealed potential European pricing, giving us a clear idea of the market positioning:
- Redmi Note 15 Pro+: Starting at €499 (approx. $579)
- Redmi Note 15 Pro: Starting at €399 (approx. $463)
- Redmi Note 15: Starting at €299 (approx. $347)
These prices position the series firmly in the competitive mid-range segment, where specs-per-euro will be heavily scrutinized, especially in light of the revealed changes.
What This Means for Buyers
If this leak holds true, Xiaomi appears to be tailoring the global Redmi Note 15 lineup with different priorities. The trade-offs suggest a focus on delivering high-megapixel primary cameras and very fast charging across the board, while scaling back on battery capacity and, in the Pro+’s case, optical zoom capabilities.
The removal of the telephoto camera on the global Pro+ will likely be the most debated change, potentially pushing photography enthusiasts toward other options. The consistent battery reductions across all models are also puzzling, though the faster charging may alleviate some concerns.
As always, we recommend treating this as a strong indication rather than final confirmation until Xiaomi makes its official global announcement, which is expected very soon.

What’s your take? Are the potential camera upgrades on the standard and Pro models enough to justify the smaller batteries, or is the missing telephoto lens on the Pro+ a deal-breaker? Let us know in the comments.
