Motorola Teases "More Pro" Moto X70 Air Pro: More Power, Faster Charging, and AI on the Horizon

Motorola is about to add a Pro model to the X70 Air series

The smartphone battleground is heating up, and Motorola is sharpening its knives. Following the launch of the impressively slim Moto X70 Air (marketed as the Motorola Edge 70 in many regions) as a direct challenger to Apple's thin-and-light flagship, the brand is already preparing its next move. A fresh teaser on the Chinese social platform Weibo has officially signaled the imminent arrival of a more powerful sibling: the Moto X70 Air Pro.

For those catching up, the standard Moto X70 Air made waves by packing high-end features into a 0.24-inch frame at a competitive price point around €799. It trades a fraction of a millimeter in thickness compared to the iPhone Air for a substantial 4,800mAh battery, a versatile dual 50MP wide and ultra-wide camera system, and a stunning 6.7-inch P-OLED display with a silky 120Hz refresh rate and an eye-searing 4,500 nits of HDR peak brightness.

Now, the question on everyone's mind is: What makes the "Pro" worthy of the name? Motorola's teaser is characteristically cryptic, stating only that the upcoming device is "more Pro" and will bring enhanced AI capabilities. This strongly suggests a core hardware upgrade is in store. While the standard model is powered by the capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, industry rumors and logical deduction point to the next-generation Snapdragon 7+ Gen 5 chipset taking center stage in the Pro variant. This would catapult the device's performance into the realm of last year's top-tier flagships, providing a significant boost for gaming, multitasking, and, crucially, on-device AI processing.

Adding fuel to the rumor fire, the device (carrying model number XT2603-1) has already been spotted in certification listings by outlets like PhoneArena. The most concrete upgrade revealed there is a substantial jump in charging speed. The Moto X70 Air Pro is expected to support 90W wired fast charging, a notable step up from the 67W capability of the current model. This means even less time plugged in and more time using that large battery.

As for design, it remains a mystery. It is unclear if the X70 Air Pro will follow the sleek aesthetic of the standard model or adopt elements from the highly anticipated, premium Motorola Signature line, which is also slated for a reveal soon. The Weibo teaser image, typical of such announcements, reveals little more than the Pro branding.

With the official unveiling expected shortly, more details on the complete specification sheet and final design are likely to leak or be confirmed in the coming days. If the rumors hold, Motorola is crafting a compelling package: flagship-adjacent performance, blistering fast charging, advanced AI features, and the superb display and battery from the base model, all potentially in a sleek, competitive form factor.

The mid-to-high-end segment is more competitive than ever, and the Moto X70 Air Pro is shaping up to be Motorola's calculated strike for attention.
