The buzz around Xiaomi’s upcoming camera powerhouse, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, just got louder. Following the release of official renders that highlighted its premium finish in three colors, the front design remained a mystery—until now. In a fresh twist, company President Lu Weibing has given the world its first real look at the phone’s front profile through a brief official hands-on video.

The video, though short, offers significant clues. It confirms that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra continues the brand’s pursuit of minimalist, edge-to-edge displays. The bezels appear remarkably slim and uniform on all sides, contributing to a noticeably rounder and more harmonious overall design language when viewed from the front. While it’s clear that screen real estate is maximized, enthusiasts are left wondering if these bezels undercut the already impressive boundaries set by its predecessor. For a direct comparison, you can check out the current top model, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, available on TradingShenzhen.

But the front view wasn’t the only surprise. Lu Weibing’s video also served as a showcase for the device’s color palette, revealing an unexpected fourth option. Initially, Xiaomi had only previewed three finishes. This newcomer sports a distinctive violet tone, a first for the Ultra series, bringing the total launch lineup to four distinct colors.

The star of the show, however, remains the previously announced Starry Green. The hands-on video confirms its eye-catching, sparkling aesthetic, which seems designed to capture light and attention from every angle. That said, the real-world shots also present the other three options—likely including classics like black and white—as exceptionally sleek and professional.

With the launch event in China set for December 25, 2025, this controlled reveal effectively builds anticipation. The focus on design refinement, especially the uniform front bezels and the addition of a unique violet colorway, suggests Xiaomi is polishing every detail to position the 17 Ultra as a top-tier contender in both aesthetics and camera performance. As for more concrete specifications, particularly regarding the much-anticipated camera system, we likely won’t have to wait much longer.

The official hands-on video was first shared by President Lu Weibing on Weibo, offering the clearest look yet at the new flagship.
