LAS VEGAS – CES is where TV dreams get bigger, brighter, and bolder, and Hisense just dropped a megaton announcement that has home theater enthusiasts buzzing. Meet the Hisense 116UXS, a colossal 116-inch RGB-X Mini LED TV that isn't just an iteration—it’s a fundamental rethinking of color science for the living room.

This new flagship builds directly on the foundation of its predecessor, the formidable 116UX (currently retailing for $29,999.99 on Amazon Marketplace), which set a high bar in global markets in 2025. But for 2026, Hisense is pushing the boundaries of light itself.

The Magic Is in the Mix: Introducing RGB MiniLED Evo

The heart of the 116UXS is what Hisense is calling RGB MiniLED Evo technology. If that sounds technical, the simple breakdown is this: where traditional displays use red, green, and blue (RGB) LEDs to create all the colors you see, Hisense has added a fourth primary color: cyan.

This isn't just a spec sheet novelty. As the company detailed in a breakdown of their CES 2026 innovations, adding cyan to the pixel structure aims to solve specific color challenges. The result, they claim, is color that is "more natural and lifelike," with notably smoother gradations and finer detail in shadowy areas—a holy grail for cinephiles who dread losing detail in dark scenes.

Specs That Stun: 5,000 Nits and Beyond BT.2025

Backing up this color revolution is raw performance. The 116UXS is rated to cover a staggering 110% of the BT.2025 color space, a wider gamut than most current content uses, effectively future-proofing the set. Even more eye-watering is the peak brightness of 5,000 nits, powered by what Hisense describes as "tens of thousands of color dimming zones." While the exact zone count is still under wraps, this level of mini-LED density promises exceptional contrast and control, minimizing bloom and delivering punchy, precise HDR.

A Sleek Giant with Brains and Brawn

Despite its massive screen real estate, Hisense has designed the 116UXS to be a surprisingly elegant monolith. It boasts an almost bezel-less design and a profile that measures just 1.57 inches (~39.9 mm) thick—svelte for a display of this size and capability.

Driving the experience is the new Hisense Hi-View AI Engine RGB, a processor presumably fine-tuned to manage that complex four-color array. For content, it supports the latest Dolby Vision 2, ensuring high dynamic range content is displayed with intended impact.

And you won't need a separate soundbar. Hisense has once again partnered with French audio maestros Devialet to integrate a 6.2.2 channel sound system directly into the TV, complete with Dolby Atmos compatibility. It’s designed to be an all-in-one audiovisual powerhouse.

Recognition at the Show

The industry is already taking note. At CES 2026, the Hisense 116UXS was named an Innovation Award Honoree, a detail you can verify on the official CES awards page. This accolade underscores that Hisense's approach is turning heads among tech judges.

The Big Unknowns

So, what’s the catch? For now, it’s the details that matter most. Hisense has not yet announced an official release date or pricing for the 116UXS RGB-X Mini LED TV. Given the premium positioning and the price of its already-expensive predecessor, it's safe to expect this technological marvel to command a king's ransom.

One thing is clear: with the 116UXS, Hisense isn't just making a bigger TV. They're attempting to paint a more perfect picture, one extra splash of cyan at a time. The future of home theater color may have just gotten a new primary.
