| Eufy’s E20 Motion Sensor has arrived in Europe |
If you’ve been keeping an eye on the smart home market, you might have spotted the sleek new motion sensor from Anker’s trusted smart home sub-brand, eufy. After making its debut in the United States back in 2025, the eufy E20 Motion Sensor is finally making its first move across the Atlantic—though for now, it’s setting up shop in just one European country.
German smart home enthusiasts are now the first in the region to get their hands on this versatile detector, which is designed to act as the vigilant eye of your automated home, whether braving the elements outside or blending into the decor indoors.
Built for Versatility: Indoors and Out
The E20 is not just another cookie-cutter sensor. eufy has designed this unit to handle the tough stuff. With an IP rating suitable for outdoor use, it can be mounted on a covered patio, in a garden shed, or on a front porch to monitor for visitors (or intruders). However, it looks just as at home in a hallway or living room.
Here is how the hardware stacks up:
- Field of View: 90 degrees, offering a wide-angle lens to cover significant ground without requiring multiple units.
- Detection Range: When mounted at the optimal height of 1.8 to 2.3 meters (approximately 6 to 7.5 feet), the sensor can spot movement up to 8 meters (26 feet) away.
- Pet Immunity: One of the biggest pain points for outdoor motion sensors is false alerts caused by roaming cats, dogs, or wildlife. eufy claims the E20 can accurately identify animals weighing up to 36 kg (~80 lbs) and ignore them, ensuring you are only alerted to relevant human-sized movement.
The "Brain" Behind the Operation: HomeBase Required
Before you rush to add this to your cart, there is a crucial piece of the puzzle you need to know. The E20 Motion Sensor is not a standalone Wi-Fi gadget. To function, it requires a eufy HomeBase (specifically, compatible models like the HomeBase Mini or the HomeBase 3).
This hub acts as the central nervous system for your devices. By connecting through the HomeBase, you unlock remote management via the eufy Security app. This allows you to arm and disarm the sensor as part of your wider security routine and receive instant push notifications the moment motion is detected.
Installation and Connectivity
Anker is marketing the E20 as a DIY-friendly upgrade. It can be mounted on a flat wall or tucked neatly into a corner. The device runs on a single CR123A battery with a 1,400 mAh capacity, and eufy’s power management seems impressive; the company estimates a battery life of up to five years, meaning you can likely install it and forget about it for half a decade.
Placement flexibility is further enhanced by the strong wireless connection. The E20 boasts an outdoor connection range of up to 200 meters (~656 feet) from the HomeBase, giving you plenty of leeway to monitor the far corners of your property.
European Pricing and Availability
As of now, the eufy E20 Motion Sensor is available to purchase in Germany, marking its official entry into the European market.
You can find it on Amazon Germany for €39.99.
For those in the US who have been enjoying the device since its 2025 launch, it remains available for $34.99 at Amazon US.
The Road Ahead for Eufy in Europe
At the time of writing, eufy has not released an official timeline regarding a wider rollout across Europe. While German customers can now integrate the E20 into their smart homes, tech enthusiasts in France, Italy, Spain, and the UK are left waiting to see if—and when—the device will cross their borders.
Given that eufy Security products are generally popular for offering feature-rich smart home tech without monthly subscription fees, it seems likely that a broader European launch is just a matter of time. For now, however, Germany stands as the exclusive gateway for European customers looking to upgrade their motion detection game.
