We are still over a week away from Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for February 25. While the tech giant has only officially teased the arrival of new smartphones and wearables, the rumor mill is already working overtime. In fact, it seems someone may have jumped the gun in a major way, with reports surfacing of what is claimed to be a Galaxy S26 Ultra being sold on the classifieds site, Craigslist.
The discovery, first highlighted by users Kakooli98 and Jay_z5 on X, shows images of a device that, at first glance, appears to be a high-end, unannounced Samsung phone. The posters allege the device was advertised for $1,650. However, a closer inspection suggests this might not be the retail version of the Galaxy S26 Ultra we are expecting.
A Test Unit, Not a Retail Flagship?
While the photos appear legitimate, the device in question lacks the hallmarks of a final production unit. Instead, evidence points to this being a Galaxy S26 Plus test unit. These pre-production devices are often used for internal testing and software validation and sometimes find their way into the wrong hands.
Despite it likely being a prototype, the leak gives us our clearest look yet at a new color option that is expected to launch with the Galaxy S26 series. The device in the photos sports a finish simply described as "Black." Based on the images, this black has a noticeably greyer, more subdued hue compared to the "Blueback" version of the current Galaxy S25 Plus.
In terms of color tone, it appears much closer to the special edition Galaxy S25 Edge (refurbished models of which are available on Amazon, offering a sleek, sophisticated alternative to a stark, true black.
What to Expect on February 25
So, while you likely won't be able to snag a Galaxy S26 Ultra on Craigslist just yet, this leak fuels the anticipation for the official lineup. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra, alongside new wearables like the Galaxy Buds 4 series.
