Lisuan Extreme LX 7G106 'Founder's Edition" gaming card

A new contender is entering the ring of PC gaming graphics. Lisuan Technology, a Shanghai-based startup founded just five years ago, has officially announced the June 18 release date for its first consumer gaming graphics card, the Extreme LX 7G106. The announcement, made at the AWE 2026 exhibition, marks a significant step in China's ambitious push to create domestic alternatives to Western GPU giants like Nvidia and AMD.

Founded by three veterans of the 1990s-era GPU pioneer S3 Graphics, Lisuan has rapidly developed its G100 GPU family with substantial backing from both private and state-owned Chinese enterprises. While the company's ultimate goal is a global presence, the initial launch of the LX 7G106 will be a China-exclusive release, available for pre-order on March 17th via the major e-commerce platform JD.com before hitting the market on June 18th.

A Mid-Range Contender with a Focus on Compatibility

Based on technical specifications released by the company, the LX 7G106 is positioned as a capable mid-range option. Built on a 6nm process node, the triple-slot card features 12GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit bus, alongside 192 texture mapping units (TMUs) and 96 raster operation pipelines (ROPs). With a maximum total graphics power (TGP) of 225W, it targets the sweet spot of the performance-per-watt market.

Perhaps the most critical news for potential users is its software compatibility. Lisuan is keen to emphasize that the card is not just for show. The company claims the LX 7G106 can handle demanding, modern titles including Cyberpunk 2077Black Myth: WukongResident Evil 4 RemakeBaldur’s Gate 3, and various Horizon series games. This compatibility is underpinned by support for essential modern APIs such as DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.3, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 3.0.

Interestingly, the card foregoes the ubiquitous HDMI port, instead offering four DisplayPort 1.4a outputs. This design choice suggests a primary focus on standard monitor setups rather than home theater PC (HTPC) configurations.

Expanding Beyond Gaming: Workstation and AI Solutions

Alongside the gaming-focused 7G106, Lisuan is simultaneously targeting the lucrative professional and AI accelerator markets. The company introduced three new cards under the LX series:

  • LX Max: A 12GB card aimed at lighter professional workloads, utilizing a standard axial fan cooler.
  • LX Pro: A step up with 24GB of VRAM, also featuring an axial cooling design for workstation tasks.
  • LX Ultra: Designed for cloud computing and server environments, this card switches to a blower-style cooler for dense server racks while maintaining 24GB of memory.

All new cards boast wide CPU compatibility, supporting not only industry-standard Intel and AMD processors but also domestic Chinese designs from Hygon, Loongson, Phytium, and Zhaoxin. On the software side, Lisuan assures support for Windows and a range of Linux-based operating systems, including UOS, Ubuntu, and Kylinsoft, ensuring they can be integrated into diverse existing IT environments.

The Road Ahead

While Lisuan has provided a compelling list of compatible games and a clear launch timeline, they have yet to release direct performance comparisons against established rivals like Nvidia’s GeForce RTX or AMD’s Radeon series. As a result, the true performance landscape of the LX 7G106 remains a subject of intense speculation and anticipation.

The June 18 launch, timed perfectly with China’s massive "618" shopping festival, will be the first real test of whether Lisuan can translate technical specifications and game compatibility into consumer trust and sales. For now, the Chinese market watches closely to see if this homegrown GPU can truly deliver a viable alternative in the gaming and professional graphics arena.
