Epic Games Kicks Off March With a Vegetable Heist and a $100 DLC Giveaway

Epic Games is giving away a popular roguelite this week.

Epic Games has started a new month with a new round of giveaways for PC gamers. Unfortunately, this week's giveaway is not as straightforward as last week's, offering a quirky sequel alongside a massive in-game bundle that requires a specific redemption method.

To recap, the storefront started offering Boxes: Lost Fragments and My Night Job last week. Still available for a combined discount of $24.98, the two games will remain available to add to your Epic Games library until 16:00 UTC on March 5. Once those deals are up, Epic Games will pivot to Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, which currently sells for $14.99, and a premium DLC pack for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms .

The Great Vegetable Caper

As it stands, Turnip Boy Robs a Bank maintains a 4.8/5 average on the Epic Games Store with 82/100 and 78/100 ratings across Metacritic and OpenCritic, respectively . Categorized as a roguelite with comedic elements, this title serves as the high-octane follow-up to the cult classic Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion.

This time, the titular felonious vegetable teams up with the fearsome Pickled Gang to execute the weirdest heist of all time. Players will shake down hostages, steal precious valuables, and battle the fuzz (including elite vegetable SWAT teams) as they explore the deep, dark depths of the Botanical Bank . To pull off the perfect heist, you will need to purchase an array of dangerous tools from the dark web, including a diamond pickaxe, C4, and a radio jammer.

Epic Games adds that this week's giveaway offers controller support. However, Steam clarifies that this only extends to Xbox controllers, which should include popular third-party options like the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless (curr. $59.99 on Amazon) .

A $100 Dungeons & Dragons Haul for Free

Additionally, Epic Games is throwing in numerous in-game items to be redeemed on Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. Bundled as the Raistlin's Renown Pack, the in-game items must be claimed by logging into Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms rather than just adding them to your library .

This is a significant offer because Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms is a free-to-play strategy management game that unites iconic Champions from Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. While the base game costs nothing to download via the Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms store page, the Raistlin's Renown Pack typically retails for over $100 .

The pack centers on Raistlin Majere, the first of the Heroes of the Lance Champions from the classic Dragonlance novels. His in-game basic attack is the iconic Magic Missile, while his ultimate, Wheel of Flame, traps enemies in a ring of fire .

The Raistlin's Renown Pack includes:

  • 32 Platinum Chests
  • Baaz Draconian familiar
  • Briv
  • Ellywick
  • Gale
  • Raistlin
  • Spurt
  • Two week-long potions

How to Claim and What Comes Next

To claim these offers, head to the Epic Games Store and grab Turnip Boy Robs a Bank to keep permanently. For the DLC, you must log into Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms via the Epic Games Launcher before the deadline to have the items permanently added to your account .

Both giveaways will remain free to claim until March 12 at 16:00 UTC. Once these deals expire, Epic Games will pivot to a new lineup. Starting March 12, the store will offer Cozy Grove (a life-sim about camping on a haunted island) and Isonzo (a authentic WW1 first-person shooter set on the Italian Front) .
