Smart lighting manufacturer Govee has officially launched its latest innovation, the Govee Edison Bulb, in both North America and Europe. While the product carries the same vintage soul, it arrives with region-specific fittings: shoppers in the US will find it as the Govee E26 Smart Edison Light Bulb 500lm, while those in Europe can purchase the Govee E27 Smart Edison Light Bulb 500lm.
A Classic Look with Modern Tech
At first glance, the new bulb captures the timeless appeal of vintage Edison lighting. It features a clear glass exterior that showcases retro-inspired spiral filaments. However, beneath this nostalgic facade lies contemporary LED technology. Govee has utilized high-density Chip on Board (COB) strips, packing in over 25 LEDs per inch. This design ensures a seamless, uniform glow without any visible "dot" effects common in some LED bulbs.
Despite its vintage look, the bulb is anything but dim. It delivers a robust 500 lumens of brightness and is fully dimmable, allowing users to set the perfect ambiance. Color quality is also a priority, with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of over 90, ensuring that the colors of your furniture, artwork, and decor appear natural and true to life. For further customization, the color temperature can be smoothly adjusted from a warm, cozy 2,700K to a cool, focused 6,500K.

The smart features extend to convenience and integration. The Govee Home app allows for scheduling, timers, and grouping multiple lights for simultaneous control. Crucially, the bulb boasts Matter compatibility, ensuring it works seamlessly with major smart home platforms. Pricing and Availability
The rollout strategy varies slightly by region. In the United States, the Govee Edison Bulb is readily available. Shoppers can purchase a 4-Pack on Amazon for $69.99. A 2-Pack is also listed on the official Govee US store, though it is currently out of stock with a restock expected by March 22nd.
In Europe, Govee is offering different pack sizes on Amazon. German customers, for example, can buy a 1-Pack for €24.99 or a 2-Pack for €44.99. For those who prefer to buy directly, the bulb will also be available on the Govee EU online store starting April 2nd.
