Forget the boring, black pucks that usually litter the mobile broadband space. The Huawei Mobile WiFi X looks like it was designed by an architect who specializes in modern furniture. The device gets its "X" moniker from its unique hinge design. When folded up, it resembles a chunky, premium power bank. Huawei is keen to point out that this isn't just a gimmick to make the router look cool in a coffee shop. Currently, the Huawei Mobile WiFi X has launched exclusively in China. It carries a price tag of CNY 2,499, which translates to approximately $364 or €316. Given the high-end specs and the premium build, it sits at the top end of the mobile hotspot market. As is common in China, the device will likely be sold in tandem with carrier data plans.
