The Realme P4 Lite 5G features a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor

Realme is showing no signs of slowing down in the budget smartphone segment. The brand has been aggressively expanding its P4 lineup, and the latest device to hit the shelves is the Realme P4 Lite 5G. Designed to capture the entry-level market, this new handset arrives with a focus on display smoothness and battery longevity, packaged in a fresh new look.

For those who follow the brand closely, the P4 Lite 5G might look a bit familiar—and for good reason. The device is essentially a rebranded version of the recently launched Realme C83. While the internal hardware remains nearly identical, Realme has differentiated the P4 Lite by tweaking the rear design. Instead of the standard finish, the company has introduced a distinct "mosaic" pattern, giving the device a slightly more premium and unique aesthetic feel compared to its C-series sibling.

Performance and Software: The Dimensity 6300 Steps Up

Under the hood, the Realme P4 Lite 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. This processor is becoming a staple in this price bracket, offering a solid balance between 5G connectivity and power efficiency. The phone is available in two memory configurations: a base model with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and a higher-tier variant featuring 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. If that isn’t enough, users can expand the storage further via a microSD card slot.

On the software front, the device runs on Realme UI 7.0, which is based on Android 16 out of the box. Realme has outlined a software support roadmap that includes two major OS upgrades (taking the device up to Android 18) and three years of security patches. While this is decent for the price range, it is worth noting that competitors like the Samsung Galaxy M17e offer a more aggressive six years of software support at a slightly lower cost, which may be a deciding factor for long-term users.

Display and Battery: A Mixed Bag of Highs and Lows

The highlight of the Realme P4 Lite 5G is arguably its display. It sports a large 6.8-inch LCD that boasts a 144 Hz refresh rate. For a budget device, a refresh rate this high is a significant selling point, ensuring that scrolling through social media and navigating the UI feels exceptionally fluid. The screen delivers a 1570 x 720 pixel resolution and can reach a peak brightness of 900 nits, making it usable even under direct sunlight.

Battery life is another strong suit. The P4 Lite packs a massive 7,000 mAh battery, designed to easily get users through two days of normal usage. However, the charging speed leaves something to be desired. The device only supports 15 W wired charging, which means topping up that large cell will take a considerable amount of time. On the bright side, the phone does include bypass charging (which allows the device to run directly from the power source during gaming to reduce heat) and reverse OTG charging, allowing it to act as a power bank for other accessories or earbuds.

Camera and Design

Photography is handled by a dual rear camera setup. The main sensor is a 13 MP shooter, though the secondary sensor remains unspecified by the company. For selfies and video calls, there is a 5 MP front-facing camera housed in the display.

Beyond the core specs, the Realme P4 Lite 5G includes a few extras that budget-conscious buyers will appreciate: a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.3, and WiFi 5 support. To manage thermals during extended gaming sessions on the 144Hz display, Realme has also included an airflow vapor chamber boasting a 5,300 sq mm heat dissipation area.

Pricing, Variants, and Availability

The Realme P4 Lite 5G will be available in two eye-catching finishes: Mosaic Blue and Mosaic Green. Pricing starts at INR 12,999 (approximately $140) for the 4 GB + 64 GB base variant. The higher-end 6 GB + 128 GB model is priced at INR 15,999 (approximately $171).

Realme has confirmed that the device will go on sale starting March 25 via the official Realme website, as well as through authorized retail partners across the country.

With its massive battery, ultra-smooth display, and fresh design, the P4 Lite 5G aims to disrupt the entry-level 5G market. However, given the intense competition and the compromises in charging speed and camera resolution, it remains to be seen how it stacks up against rivals like the Samsung Galaxy M17e and Xiaomi’s Redmi offerings in the same price bracket.
