| DJI's new Osmo Pocket 4 as shown in the latest teaser video posted on X. |
The wait is almost over. After months of speculation, leaked renders, and cryptic social media posts, DJI has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated Osmo Pocket 4 will launch on April 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM GMT. The company is pulling out all the stops for this reveal, and the vlogging community is on the edge of their seats.
To add to the excitement, DJI has just dropped another teaser video featuring a provocative new tagline: "More storage. More stories" .
On the surface, this seems like a straightforward win. It all but confirms the recent leaks that the device will ship with a massive 107GB of built-in high-speed storage. For vloggers on the go, that is a significant amount of space right out of the box. But if you look a little closer, the teaser has sparked a massive debate.
Are SD Cards Being "Chewed Away"?
Ironically, DJI’s teaser video adds fuel to the fire. The footage visually shows SD cards being literally "chewed away" to make room for the faster internal memory. While the company likely intended this to be a metaphorical "storage upgrade," fans rightfully fear a "storage downgrade" if the expandable slot is removed entirely. After all, how are you going to lose your SD card if you don’t have one in the first place?

Why the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is (Most Likely) Still Getting a MicroSD Card Slot
Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel—and we don’t mean the new magnetic fill light reportedly coming with the Osmo Pocket 4.
One of the recently leaked hardware renders shows a brand-new cover slot on the left side of DJI’s vlogging camera. Unless the company is planning to give us a second USB-C port for accessories (which seems unlikely), this is likely the same SD card slot we saw on the Osmo Pocket 3—only now hidden behind a door.
If the leaks are accurate, this suggests DJI isn't ditching a legacy feature, but rather gaining pro-grade protection. A covered slot would offer significantly better dust and water resistance compared to the exposed port of the previous generation.
One-Inch Sensor and Pro-Grade Features
Aside from the storage debate, the rest of the specs sound incredibly promising. According to packaging leaks and reports, the standard Osmo Pocket 4 will retain the beloved 1-inch sensor but upgrade it with 14 stops of dynamic range and 10-bit D-Log M color. It is also expected to handle 4K video at 120fps, making it a pocket-sized powerhouse for slow-motion footage.
Stay tuned for more DJI Osmo Pocket 4 news as we head toward the April 16 launch! We will be covering the announcement live to settle the SD card debate once and for all.
