Mova Just Dropped a Total Curveball: Balcony Solar Systems That Rival Anker and EcoFlow

New from Mova: LumeGret A4000

HAMBURG, Germany – If you’ve been paying attention to Mova over the last couple of years, you probably know them for two things: robot vacuums that don’t get lost under your couch, and pool cleaners that actually scrub the waterline. But at a launch event held today in Hamburg, the young brand threw a serious curveball.

Alongside the usual upgrades to their cleaning fleet, Mova unveiled something nobody saw coming: two new solar systems aimed directly at the booming balcony power plant market.

Meet the LumeGret A2000 and A4000. And yes, the names sound like something out of a sci-fi novel, but the specs are very real. With these two newcomers, Mova is officially stepping into the ring with heavy hitters like Anker Solix, Zendure, EcoFlow, and Jackery.

No Electrician? No Problem.

Let’s be honest—the biggest hurdle for most people thinking about balcony solar is the installation hassle. Nobody wants to drill holes in a rental apartment wall or hire an electrician for a "simple" plug.

Mova seems to have heard that complaint loud and clear. According to information provided by the manufacturer, the entire LumeGret series is designed as a true plug-and-play solution. The claim? You can go from unboxing to generating power on your balcony in about 30 minutes.

That is a bold statement. If they actually pull it off, it removes the single biggest barrier to entry for renters and apartment dwellers across Europe.

The Heavy Lifter: LumeGret A4000

Let’s start with the big sibling, the A4000. This isn't just a battery; it’s a whole home energy sidekick.

  • Capacity: Expandable from 4 kWh all the way up to 20 kWh. That is serious storage for a balcony unit.
  • Lifespan: Mova claims a 20-year lifespan with 10,000 charge cycles. Even if you use it daily, that’s nearly three decades of service. They are backing this up with a 10-year warranty.
  • Smart Features: Here is where it gets interesting. The A4000 supports AI-supported technology to maximize how much solar power you actually use (rather than sending it back to the grid for pennies). It also enables intelligent EV charging at up to 2.5 kW.

Imagine plugging your electric car into your balcony setup. That’s the vibe Mova is going for here.

The Safe Choice: LumeGret A2000

Not everyone needs a massive 20 kWh fortress of power. For the more safety-conscious user—or perhaps those living in apartments with stricter HOA rules—the A2000 takes a different approach.

Mova states that the A2000 focuses on "enhanced safety," and they aren't just talking about over-voltage protection. This unit includes an aerosol fire suppression function.

Yes, you read that right. If something goes wrong thermally, the system can essentially "spray" an extinguishing agent internally to stop a fire before it starts. That is a feature you usually see in industrial server rooms, not on a balcony in Berlin.

Capacity ranges from 1.92 to 9.6 kWh, making it a solid entry point for smaller households.

The Software Trick Everyone Wants

Hardware is only half the battle. Both new LumeGret models support bidirectional energy management.

Why does that matter? Because it means you can charge the battery via AC power, not just solar. This is a killer feature if you are on a dynamic electricity tariff. You can program the system to charge from the grid at 3 AM when power is cheap, and then use that power during the expensive 7 PM peak hours.

Everything is managed through a dedicated app, which—if Mova follows their usual design language—will likely be far less clunky than the legacy energy competitors.

Pricing and Release Date

Here is the catch. After dropping all this technical firepower, Mova played it close to the chest on the price tag.

The manufacturer has not yet revealed how much the LumeGret A2000 or A4000 will cost. Given the feature set (especially that 20-year lifespan on the A4000), they are likely aiming for a "premium but accessible" price point to compete with EcoFlow’s Delta Pro series and Anker’s Solix lineup.

Availability: Expect to see these on shelves (or virtual shelves) in the second quarter of 2026.

Bottom line: Mova has proven they can make a vacuum that doesn't bump into walls. Now we have to wait and see if they can disrupt the solar market. As soon as pricing drops, we will update this story.
