Oppo Find X9 Ultra Easter Leak: Real Hasselblad Camera Design or AI-Generated Fake? New Photos Surface

Allegedly the final design of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, as currently seen in several pictures

The wait is almost over for mobile photography enthusiasts. As we head into the Easter holidays, a slew of new images have flooded social media, offering what might be our best look yet at the final design of the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra. These images are a significant step up from the early renders we saw at the start of the year, providing a much more realistic glimpse of the phone's hardware.

A Closer Look at the New Design

The latest photos, which are spreading rapidly across Weibo and X (formerly Twitter), suggest Oppo has made some notable tweaks to the device's aesthetics. The two-part design featuring separate Oppo and Hasselblad branding seems to be staying, but that's where the similarities to earlier leaks end. The previously seen thick leather finish appears to have been replaced by a flatter, more modern vegan leather look.

Perhaps the most significant change is within the circular Hasselblad camera module. The prominent "H" logo in the center is gone, and the cameras themselves are now split across four different sides of the module. This new layout creates a much busier, more technical look for the phone's rear.

What the Engravings Tell Us

The detailed engravings around the camera lens are also quite revealing. The 14-230mm focal length markings are clearly visible in most of the images. Similarly, the aperture range, marked as f/1.5 to f/3.5, and the "Lumo" branding can be partially made out. This information strongly suggests that Oppo is planning an incredibly versatile quad-camera setup, potentially featuring a massive 200-megapixel main sensor alongside dedicated telephoto lenses.

Are These Photos Real?

Despite the high quality of the leaked photos, a major question remains: are they authentic? One of the clearning images was shared on Weibo here, and another early source can be found here. While some high-resolution versions show incredible detail, they are not without their issues. Even in a fairly good-quality full-resolution shot of a brown/beige Find X9 Ultra, there are visible artifacts within the camera module itself, casting some doubt on its origins.

This skepticism is amplified by other leaked images of a black Oppo Find X9 Ultra variant. In this batch, we see not just low-resolution versions, but also higher-quality pictures that display tell-tale AI artifacts in the lettering. This initially led some observers to believe the images were entirely AI-generated. However, some versions of these photos might be genuine. For one, you can clearly see fingerprints on the camera module, which would be an odd detail for an AI to add. Secondly, a very unusual design choice—the LED flash being raised above the body—suggests that if this is a fake, it's a very specific and peculiar one. For additional context and analysis, a report from GSMArena covers the leak in more detail here.

The Big Picture

Regardless of the authenticity of the photos, the hype around the Find X9 Ultra is building for a reason. Oppo has confirmed that the device will be the first to debut its new LUMO optical internal zoom technology. This tech allows the phone's telephoto lens to maintain pure optical quality even when switching between zoom ranges, such as from 3x to 6x, ensuring you don't lose detail.

This new information confirms that Oppo is betting big on the Find X9 Ultra's camera capabilities. The company is scheduled to officially unveil the device at a launch event in Chengdu, China, on April 21. With a rumored 7,000mAh battery and the promise of a game-changing camera system, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most exciting flagship smartphones of the year. We'll be sure to bring you all the official details as soon as they're announced.
