| RedMagic will sell the RedMagic 11S Pro in Dark Night and Silver Wing finishes. |
A few days have now passed since RedMagic announced its next gaming smartphone, and the leaks are finally turning into concrete details. For context, the company presented the RedMagic 11 Pro around six months ago (currently $799 on Amazon). Hence, it is high time that RedMagic updated its flagship gaming smartphone series with an S-branded model – and the RedMagic 11S Pro is shaping up to be a serious speed demon.
As we have discussed previously, RedMagic has settled on the RedMagic 11S Pro as the name for its latest performance beast. Initially, the company confirmed that the RedMagic 11S Pro 'series' would be launching in China on May 18. Now, it has confirmed what the device actually looks like before next week's official announcement. Also, the company has opened pre-orders in China; there is no word on global availability yet – but given RedMagic’s track record, an international launch is likely just a few weeks behind.
Familiar Design, Tweaked Camera Island
Unsurprisingly, the RedMagic 11S Pro represents an evolution of its predecessor's design. You still get the same aggressive, angular aesthetic with built-in cooling fan vents and the familiar button layout – including the dual shoulder triggers that gaming enthusiasts love. RedMagic has kept the fan and button placements identical to the RedMagic 11 Pro, which is good news for muscle memory.
However, the camera layout has been reworked this time around. One of the primary or ultra-wide-angle cameras has been moved to the right side of the rear panel for some reason. It’s a small but noticeable shift that gives the phone a slightly more balanced look. Whether this change improves photography or is purely cosmetic remains to be seen, but it does help distinguish the 11S Pro from its predecessor at a glance.
Under the Hood: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version
The real story, of course, is what’s inside. The new images confirm that RedMagic has equipped its new smartphone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version chipset. Strictly speaking unreleased for now, RedMagic has clarified that the "Leading Version" differs from the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 by overclocking its Oryon Gen 3 Prime cores from 4.6 GHz to 4.74 GHz.
In other words, the RedMagic 11S Pro appears to feature a re-branded Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy – the same silicon that Samsung includes inside the Galaxy S26 Ultra globally. That’s a huge deal for mobile gamers. We’re talking about a chip that can push frame rates beyond 120fps in demanding titles, handle console-grade ray tracing, and still maintain thermal efficiency thanks to RedMagic’s active cooling fan.
What This Means for Gaming Performance
Pair that overclocked CPU with the Adreno GPU (also tuned for higher frequencies) and you’ve got a phone that should outperform practically anything else on the market – at least until the next wave of flagship chips arrives. RedMagic’s active internal fan, now in its sixth generation, is expected to keep the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version from throttling even during marathon gaming sessions.
Early leaks suggest the 11S Pro will pack up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The display is likely a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution (gaming phones still favor speed over Quad HD). Battery capacity is rumored to stay around 6,500mAh with 165W wired charging – enough to go from zero to full in about 14 minutes.
Pre-Order Details and Global Availability
For now, Chinese gamers can pre-order the RedMagic 11S Pro directly from the company’s official store. If you’re in China and want to secure your unit ahead of the May 18 launch, head over to the dedicated pre-order page:

International fans will have to wait a little longer. Based on previous release cycles, a global launch typically follows 3-6 weeks after the Chinese debut. The standard RedMagic 11 Pro launched globally at **849 or $899 given the upgraded chipset.

Final Thoughts: Should You Hold Out for the 11S Pro?
If you’re a competitive mobile gamer who absolutely needs the highest frame rates and lowest latency, the RedMagic 11S Pro is shaping up to be the phone to beat in the second half of this year. The overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version alone makes it a worthwhile upgrade over the standard 11 Pro.
That said, if you already own the RedMagic 11 Pro, the differences might feel incremental – same design, same fan, slightly faster chip, and a rearranged camera. But for anyone coming from an older gaming phone or a non-gaming flagship, the 11S Pro promises a truly uncompromising mobile gaming experience.
We’ll have full benchmarks and hands-on impressions after the official May 18 launch, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, pre-orders are live in China, and a global announcement can’t be far behind.
