| The GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro in one of its two apparent launch colours. |
The mini-PC market is heating up as manufacturers race to adopt AMD's latest Gorgon Halo architecture. Over the past few weeks, we've seen Minisforum announce the MS-S1 Max P495 and Chuwi unveil the UniBox AI495 Pro. Not to be outdone, GMKtec showcased its EVO-X5 Pro at IFA 2026 in Berlin earlier this month, giving attendees a glimpse of what's coming next.
At the time, GMKtec stayed tight-lipped about availability, focusing instead on how the EVO-X5 Pro would outperform its predecessors, the EVO-X3 and the EVO-X2 (which we reviewed last year and currently retails for $2,199 on Amazon). Now, less than two weeks later, the company has finally revealed when eager customers can get their hands on this powerful new machine.

September 28 Launch Date Set
GMKtec has confirmed that the EVO-X5 Pro will launch globally on September 28 at 07:00 UTC. While it remains unclear whether this timing marks the reveal of pricing information or the actual availability for purchase, excitement is building around this compact powerhouse.
The EVO-X5 Pro packs some seriously impressive specifications. It supports up to 24 TB of storage across three M.2 2280 SSDs (PCIe Gen 4), making it a dream for content creators and data-heavy workflows. Perhaps even more notable is its memory configuration: up to 192 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, with up to 160 GB assignable as VRAM. This surpasses the 96 GB limit found in Strix Halo machines, giving users unprecedented flexibility for AI workloads and graphics-intensive applications.
The mini-PC also features a built-in 330 W power supply, eliminating the need for an external power brick. For those needing even more computational muscle, multiple EVO-X5 Pro units can be clustered together.
