Honor has expanded its new Magic9 lineup in China with a model that puts battery life front and center. The Honor Magic9 Super Edition joins the standard Magic9 and the Magic9 Pro Max, but it stands out for two reasons: an enormous 11,000mAh battery and a price tag that makes it the most affordable phone in the series.
For buyers who care more about endurance than chasing the absolute latest chipset, the Super Edition could be one of the most interesting releases in Honor’s 2026 flagship family.
A massive battery in a surprisingly slim body
The headline feature is unmistakable. The Magic9 Super Edition packs an 11,000mAh cell, which is far larger than what you will find in most flagship phones. It supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, so even a battery this size should be able to top up at a reasonable pace.
What makes the design more impressive is how Honor has packaged it. The phone measures 161.78 x 76.72 x 8.1mm and weighs around 227g. Despite carrying more battery capacity than both the Magic9 and Magic9 Pro Max, it is actually thinner than both. The standard Magic9 is 8.49mm thick, while the Pro Max is 8.59mm. In other words, Honor has managed to increase battery size without making the phone thicker than its siblings.

Inside, the Magic9 Super Edition runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. That is not the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 found in the Magic9 Pro Max, but it is still a flagship-class chip. Honor pairs it with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, which should keep everyday performance and app loading speeds competitive.
Cooling is another area where Honor has gone beyond the usual vapor chamber setup. The phone uses a wind-tunnel fan working alongside a board-level cooling system. Honor also includes its Phantom Engine 3.0 and a C3 RF enhancement chip. A bright, fast OLED display
The display is a 6.81-inch flat OLED panel with a 2788 x 1280 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It reaches 2,000 nits of global peak brightness and can hit up to 10,000 nits in localized areas, which should help with outdoor visibility and HDR content.
Honor also focuses on eye comfort. The screen uses 3840Hz PWM dimming and can drop as low as 1 nit of minimum brightness. It covers 1.07 billion colors with DCI-P3 coverage, and the bezels are just 1.03mm thick, giving it a 95.5% screen-to-body ratio.

Photography is not an afterthought here. The rear camera system is anchored by a 200MP Samsung S5KHP5 sensor with a 1/1.55-inch size, an f/1.9 aperture, and optical image stabilization. A 50MP Sony LYTIA 500 telephoto lens provides 3x optical zoom, also with OIS, while a 12MP ultrawide camera supports autofocus.
Up front, there is a 50MP selfie camera. Video recording reaches 4K at up to 120fps. According to GSMArena, the Super Edition uses the same Honor H1 imaging chip as the standard Magic9 and works with Honor’s G200 teleconverter.
Software, connectivity, and durability
The phone ships with MagicOS 11 based on Android 17. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an infrared remote control, and dual SIM support. Honor also includes stereo speakers and a dedicated AI key.
One notable difference from its siblings is the fingerprint sensor. The Magic9 Super Edition uses an optical in-display reader, while the Magic9 and Magic9 Pro Max use ultrasonic sensors. The phone carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, so it should handle dust, water, and high-pressure water exposure better than many standard flagships.
Pricing and availability
The entry model comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 12GB + 512GB version is priced at CNY 4,999, which is about $745. The 16GB + 512GB model costs CNY 5,499, or roughly $819. Honor has not released a 1TB configuration.
Color options include Popcorn Yellow, Curtain Black, Olive Green, and a white finish called Opening Statement. The Magic9 Super Edition is available to pre-order in China, but Honor has not announced plans to sell it in other markets.
For now, the Honor Magic9 Super Edition looks like a niche flagship built for users who want maximum battery life without giving up modern camera hardware, a bright OLED screen, or premium build quality. If it ever launches globally, it could find a loyal audience among heavy users, travelers, and anyone tired of charging a phone every day.
