Creality just dropped a game-changer, and it's called the K3.
If you've been following the 3D printing world, you know the struggle: multi-color prints are slow, wasteful, and often frustrating. Well, Creality has officially launched the K3, a new flagship 3D printer that swaps between four independent nozzles in about five seconds—and it's already available for pre-order in China at an introductory price of ¥4,599 (roughly $680). For those outside China, Creality has confirmed the printer will retail for under $900 internationally.
The K3 made its public debut at IFA Berlin in September alongside four other new printers, but now we finally have the full picture—and it's impressive.
Four Nozzles, Zero Hassle
At the heart of the K3 is Creality's new KliTek™ nozzle-changing system. Instead of flushing filament through a single shared nozzle every time you switch colors (the method most multi-color printers use), the K3 simply moves to a dedicated nozzle for each filament. According to the official Creality K3 product page, this seamless swap takes just 4.8 seconds.
The results? Creality claims the K3 can cut print times by up to 80% and reduce filament waste by roughly 85% compared to traditional single-nozzle multi-color printers. Real-world examples from Creality's lab show a dragon trophy model taking 42 hours on the K3 versus a whopping 168 hours on a conventional setup—while using just 240 grams of filament instead of 2,417 grams.
Mix-and-Match Nozzle Sizes
Here's where things get really interesting. The K3 doesn't just support four nozzles of the same size—it lets you mix and match. You can equip 0.2mm, 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and 0.8mm nozzles simultaneously, meaning you could use a precision 0.4mm nozzle for outer walls and a high-flow 0.8mm nozzle to blast through infill. Creality says this hybrid approach can boost efficiency by up to 30%.
The standard package includes four 0.4mm brass-tipped nozzles, with a multi-nozzle kit sold separately after launch.
Built for TPU and Beyond
Flexible filaments have always been a pain point for multi-material printing, but Creality has optimized the K3 specifically for TPU. The printer's S-Drive™ feed system works with high-flow nozzles to achieve up to 7x the flow rate of standard consumer printers when printing TPU 95A. This means you can now combine flexible materials of different hardnesses—like 85A and 95A TPU—in a single object.
The K3 also supports CMYK full-color printing, using filament translucency to physically blend colors as layers build up. No more hand-painting your prints—just load four CMYK filaments and let the printer do the rest.
Hardware That's Built to Last
The K3 isn't just about fancy nozzle tricks. It features a high-rigidity aluminum frame and a pin-style mechanical coupling that locates each nozzle along the X, Y, and Z axes. Creality tested the changer through more than 600,000 high-speed swaps, and it still maintained repeat positioning accuracy within 25 micrometers.
The machine is packed with 37 high-precision sensors, 12 of which are dedicated solely to monitoring nozzle changes. There's also an AI camera for foreign object detection, build plate detection, and even spaghetti detection—because we've all been there.
Open Ecosystem, Root Access Included
Unlike some closed-off printers, the K3 comes with root access enabled out of the box. Creality says this open design lets users extend the printer with their own hardware and software customizations. The printer runs on Klipper-based firmware, which Creality plans to release in phases, and it's compatible with both Creality Print 7.0 and OrcaSlicer.
Full Specs at a Glance
According to IT之家, the K3 boasts a build volume of 260 × 260 × 260mm, a maximum print speed of 500 mm/s, and acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s². It supports a wide range of materials, including PLA, PETG, PET, PLA-CF/GF, TPU 95A, and more. With the optional top cover or all-material kit, you can unlock even more filaments like ABS-CF, PC, PA, and softer TPU grades.
The printer comes with four spool slots built in, and an additional CFS Hub allows connection to Creality's CFS filament system for even more color options.
Pricing and Availability
The K3 is listed on JD.com at ¥4,589.15, with pre-sales now open in China. For context, Creality's K2 series launched in China in August 2025 starting at ¥3,199. The K3 represents a significant step up—but given its capabilities, the price seems more than fair.
International pricing and availability haven't been fully detailed yet, but Creality has confirmed the printer will cost less than $900 outside China.
The Verdict
The Creality K3 isn't just another incremental upgrade—it's a fundamental rethinking of how multi-color, multi-material 3D printing should work. By eliminating the waste and time penalties associated with single-nozzle systems, Creality has addressed two of the biggest pain points in the hobby. Add in TPU optimization, CMYK color blending, and an open ecosystem, and you've got a printer that could seriously shake up the market.
Will it live up to the hype? Only hands-on reviews will tell. But based on the specs and Creality's track record, the K3 looks like a winner.
