Mondraker Zendit S Debuts With 150 Nm Avinox Motor and 800 Wh Battery at €6,499

Powerful motor, lightweight frame: The Mondraker Zendit R

Mondraker has added a new entry point to its Zendit electric mountain bike range, and it doesn't skimp on the hardware. The Spanish brand's latest model, the Zendit S, arrives at €6,499—€2,000 less than the flagship Zendit RR—while carrying over the same punchy Avinox M2S mid-drive motor and a hefty 800 Wh battery.

For riders who have been eyeing Mondraker's premium e-MTB platform but balking at the near-€8,500 price of the Zendit RR, the S variant suddenly makes the proposition a lot more palatable.

Same Motor, Same Battery, Lower Price

The headline figure here is the Avinox M2S motor, which churns out a peak 150 Nm of torque and up to 1,500 watts of maximum output. Those numbers put it firmly in the high-performance e-MTB bracket, but crucially, the bike remains fully road-legal under EU pedelec regulations. Continuous rated output is capped at 250 watts, and assistance cuts off at 25 km/h—meaning no registration, no license, no hassle.

The 800 Wh battery is fully integrated into the carbon frame, and Mondraker claims the system retains 80% of its capacity after 500 charge cycles. A 4A charger comes as standard.

One thing to note: like most dedicated mountain bikes, the Zendit S ships without integrated lighting. If you plan to use it on the road, you'll want to budget for a set of clip-on lights.

Suspension and Components

Mondraker hasn't cut corners on the chassis. Up front, you get a Fox 38 29 Float Grip X2 Factory Kashima fork with 170 mm of travel, paired with a matching Fox Float X Factory Kashima rear shock delivering 165 mm at the back. The bike runs a mullet setup—29-inch front wheel, 27.5-inch rear—which Mondraker says offers the best overall performance for aggressive riding.

To handle the motor's substantial torque, Mondraker specifies a 36-tooth chainring for improved drivetrain longevity. Shifting duties fall to a 12-speed SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS T-Type electronic rear derailleur, while SRAM Maven Base four-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 200 mm rotors at both ends provide the stopping power.

The full-carbon frame helps keep weight at a respectable 22.8 kg—competitive given the beefy motor and large battery on board. Mondraker's ZERO Suspension system has been reworked specifically to make the most of the Avinox motor's output, with optimized anti-squat values around 105% at sag for a balanced, efficient pedaling feel.

Who Is It For?

Mondraker is pitching the Zendit S at mountain bikers who want serious electrical assistance, a carbon frame, and top-tier components without stepping into flagship pricing. The €2,000 saving over the Zendit RR is significant, and the core ride experience—motor, battery, suspension platform—remains largely intact.

The Zendit S is available in sizes S through XL and three colorways: Black, Desert, and Saturn. For those who want the full-spec flagship experience, the Zendit RR remains available at €8,499, with the range-topping Zendit XR sitting at €12,499.

With the e-MTB market growing increasingly crowded, Mondraker's decision to offer a more accessible entry point to its Zendit platform looks like a smart move—one that should appeal to riders who want premium performance without the premium flagship markup.
