Pokémon Winds and Waves is already one of the most anticipated Switch 2 titles, and the rumour mill refuses to slow down. While fans expect an open-world adventure when the game arrives in 2027, a new leak suggests the map could be far bigger than anyone imagined. According to alleged early dialogue from a beta build, players may explore a region made up of around 100 islands — plus a strange new mechanic called “Majinization.”
A region of 100 islands?
On social media, Centro Leaks shared early dialogue from the Game Freak project, giving fans plenty to talk about. The text reportedly comes from the infamous 2024 Teraleak, which has already produced several Pokémon Winds and Waves rumours. Earlier leaks pointed to 17 or 18 tropical islands, so the jump to roughly 100 has caught many followers off guard.
The big question is how Game Freak could realistically build an open world that large. One option is the most painstaking: design every island from scratch, complete with unique scenery, Pokémon, and secrets. That would be an enormous undertaking, even for a major studio.
A more practical route would involve procedural generation. Game Freak could use algorithms to create different environments and decide which Pokémon live in each area. Another possibility is that 17 islands are carefully designed in advance, while the rest are variations on those templates. In a less exciting scenario, not every island would even be accessible to players.

What could Majinization mean?
The other Pokémon Winds and Waves leak drawing attention introduces a suspected battle mechanic. In the dialogue, it teases, “A new potential for Pokémon!” Trainers will apparently “Learn about Majinization (魔神化) on the Majinize Tour (マジナイズツアー)!” The ability or state is said to activate through a Majinize Band.
If a tour is built around the feature, it seems likely Majinization will be a major focus of the Switch 2 game. One theory is that Pokémon take on a demonic form, giving them an edge in combat. Since harnessing the power of nature has been a consistent theme in the Teraleak, Majinization could also be tied to weather or the environment.
Fans should stay cautious
It’s worth remembering that the leaked text comes from a 2024 build or earlier. Game Freak may have changed major elements of the Gen 10 Pokémon experience since then. With fans still hungry for news after the February Pokémon Winds and Waves release date update, it’s easy to latch onto every rumour — but not every leak will survive to the final game.
For now, the idea of 100 islands and a mysterious Majinization mechanic is exciting, if a little hard to believe. If true, Pokémon Winds and Waves could be the most ambitious Pokémon adventure yet. If not, fans will have to wait for official news to see what Game Freak is really planning.
