| Xiaomi offers a new washer-dryer |
Xiaomi is expanding its large home appliance lineup across Europe, and its latest smart washer-dryer has just landed in two major markets. The Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 10kg is now listed in Xiaomi’s official German and Spanish stores for €649, bringing automatic dual dosing, app control and a 12-year motor warranty to more households.
Xiaomi has spent the past few years steadily building out its smart home ecosystem, and large domestic appliances are now a serious part of that strategy. The Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 10kg—model number WD100MJA12EU—is the company’s latest all-in-one laundry solution to roll out to additional European markets, following its earlier availability in other regions.
According to Xiaomi’s official listings, the machine is priced at €649 and is estimated to ship within around 12 days. Customers in Germany can find it on the Xiaomi Deutschland store, while Spanish buyers can order it through the Xiaomi España product page. The launch was first spotted by Notebookcheck, which noted the appliance’s arrival in both countries.
A 10kg washer with a 7kg drying limit
As the name suggests, the Mijia Washer Dryer Pro offers a 10kg washing capacity. The drying capacity, however, maxes out at 7kg—meaning larger loads will need to be partially unloaded before starting the drying phase. It’s a common trade-off in combined washer-dryers, and something buyers should keep in mind if they regularly wash bulky items like bedding.
On the energy front, the unit carries a Class A rating for washing, but drops to Class D when using the combined wash-and-dry function. With average electricity prices in Europe hovering around €0.30 per kWh, a full drying cycle can add more than €1 to running costs—so users may want to reserve the dryer for when it’s really needed.
Automatic dual dosing takes the guesswork out of laundry
One of the standout features is the Dual Auto Dosing system, which intelligently detects the weight of each load and dispenses the right amount of liquid detergent and fabric softener. Xiaomi claims a single refill can last up to a month, based on an estimated two to three wash cycles per week with 4–5kg loads. Users can also fine-tune the dosing ratio through the Xiaomi Home app, increasing it for heavily soiled clothes and reducing it for lighter loads.
The machine also uses a detergent pre-mixing technology that sprays a highly concentrated detergent solution directly into the drum at high pressure. Xiaomi says this improves stain removal while cutting wash time by around 45%, water consumption by 33% and energy use by 40% compared with its previous 10.5kg model.
Touchscreen controls and app-based smarts
Xiaomi has ditched traditional rotary dials in favor of an intuitive touchscreen panel with multilingual support. The design, inspired by the concept of a gravitational field, earned the machine a German iF Design Award in February 2024. Beyond the panel, the washer-dryer connects to the Xiaomi Home app, where users can schedule washes remotely, customize programs through the “My Time” mode, and receive over-the-air firmware updates that add new cycles and features.
Available programs include a 12-minute Quick Wash for lightly soiled garments, a 32-minute Smart Wash for deeper cleaning, and steam-based hygiene cycles that Xiaomi says eliminate up to 99.99% of bacteria. There’s also a refresh cycle, aromatherapy wash and an auto-tumble function that kicks in if laundry isn’t removed within 30 minutes of a cycle ending.
Built for quiet, long-term operation
Under the hood, the Mijia Washer Dryer Pro uses a direct-drive motor connected straight to the drum, which Xiaomi says reduces wear, cuts vibration and keeps noise levels down during spin cycles. The company backs the motor with a 12-year warranty on parts—though terms vary by region. A stainless steel drying duct, antibacterial door seal and automatic self-rinsing system round out the maintenance-friendly design.
The machine measures just 525mm in drum diameter but fits into a relatively slim body, making it suitable for balconies, bathrooms or kitchens. Xiaomi lists minimum clearance requirements of 20mm on top, 15mm on each side and 30mm at the rear for installation.
Should you buy one?
At €649, the Mijia Washer Dryer Pro 10kg undercuts many comparable washer-dryers from established European brands, while packing in features like automatic dosing, app control and a generous motor warranty. The main caveats are the 7kg drying limit and the Class D rating for combined wash-and-dry cycles—both worth weighing up if drying performance is a priority.
For smart-home enthusiasts already invested in the Xiaomi ecosystem, though, it’s an attractive option that slots neatly into the Xiaomi Home app.
