A startup called SmartMicroOptics has developed a lens system that can be used with smartphones and transformed into microscopes capable of zooming up to 1,000 times, enabling people to use it to scan microorganisms, bacteria, and even blood cells.

DIPLE .. A new innovation that turns your phone into a microscope that grows 1000 times

The lens-based team, dubbed DIPLE, developed BLIPS nearly four years ago, a series of small lenses that can be attached to smartphones for zoom as well, but the accuracy they provide does not live up to the new lenses.

The new DEPL lenses feature a steady, back-illuminated system that is capable of delivering clearly-enlarged images and makes use of prepared slides. Samples are placed between two pieces of glass to ensure image clarity.  The system is small in size, as little as the size of a smartphone case, and provides a number of zoom levels: 35 times, 75 times, and 150 times, which can be increased using the zoom feature in the smartphone.

The company, which sees it as a suitable alternative to expensive microscopes, is available in three levels: red 3 Micrometers, gray 1 Micrometers, and black less than Micrometers, which makes it possible to see cell details.

The company has launched a financing campaign on the site Kickstrater to get 25,000 euros, and has so far received about 55,000 euros, and plans to launch the product mid next year at a starting price of $ 40 and up to $ 120.
