MSI Optix G27C4 165HZ Full HD Curved Gaming Monitor

MSI Optix G27C4 165HZ Full HD Curved Gaming Monitor

MSI only provides HDMI cables, and there are no DisplayPort cables. You can only get 60Hz with one HDMI cable. If MSI announces a 165Hz display, the DisplayPort cable must be present on the screen. I had to order a DisplayPort cable for $ 10. Delivered.
When using an HDMI cable, the color is slightly washed while the black color is a little gray, but there are no damaged spots or backlighting. It is hoped to improve this effect with a DisplayPort cable with a higher refresh rate. The screen has solid metal support, but it can only be tilted and not adjustable in height. It has no USB port and no speakers. No instructions are shown on the screen, only brief instructions. You must visit the MSI website to download the complete guide. If you can get support from the MSI website, please also download, unzip and update the display driver in Device Manager. When making screen captures on the MSI website, free MSI games are also included.
An excellent overview of this screen can be found on the Tom's Hardware website. You can also find articles on how to run G-Sync from Nvidia on FreeSync Monitor.
It's perfect for a 15-year-old homemade computer table made of oak wood (see photo).

EDIT 16/12: I used a DisplayPort cable to connect the monitor to the Geforce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card. I need to open NVIDIA Control Panel to change refresh rate to 165Hz and configure G-Sync. This works with this screen, but only for DisplayPort cables. (look at the picture). The color always appears pale gray and black.
I set the OSD color temperature recommended by Tom's Hardware to R 48, G 55, B 57 and Contrast 69. Gamma calibration, low, ~ 2.0. Tom's device was also found to be low. It should work around 2.2 and cannot be changed in OSD. Thank you very much MSI.
You can change gamma by performing color calibration on the Windows screen and entering calibration in the search bar. Or in the Nvidia Control Panel; or by running a free program called Quick Gamma. I am using Windows color calibration and can increase gamma to 2.2. Colors are more beautiful and blacks less.
My rules
Advantages: price
The game looks good, but requires OSD adjustments and a gamma setting of about 2.2.
The refresh rate is 165Hz, but only for DisplayPort supported cables and graphics cards.
FreeSync can launch G-Sync
Samsung SVA card
High contrast 3000: 1
1 displayport and 2 HDMI

3-year warranty
Disadvantages: No speakers or USB ports (no fool for me)
The brightness is not very high, the maximum nominal brightness is 250 lumens, while the brightness is 85 degrees.
No gamma changes in OSD
Displayport cable not included
No height adjustment, tilt only
The game controls are good, but not for Photoshop.
The specified response time is 1 millisecond, but the actual GTG may be higher.

one last thing. The screen looks a little strong, but as the built-in "Don't make" signs appear, you won't get it if you pull the sides. Place the holder in the polystyrene packaging as shown.
