Apple plans to develop 5G antennas for iPhone 5G phones this year, according to a report

Previous leaks confirmed Apple's plans to launch additional 5G phones this year. In a new report, Apple is also preparing to develop special antennas to support the next release of iPhone 5G.

5G networks are not widespread in all markets, but 5G phones are now one of the main departments of many phone manufacturers, and Apple is preparing to launch the first version of the iPhone 5G this year.

Fast said in a report released today that Apple plans to develop the company's 5G antenna, so Apple will not rely on a Qualcomm QTM 525mmWave antenna this year.

A source close to Apple's plans also confirmed that the tech giant would use the Qualcomm X55 modem chip in future iPhone 5G phones, but would use an Apple-developed 5G antenna. The source also said that Apple will test Qualcomm antennas and the antennas the company has developed to ensure the best choice for the iPhone. 5G will be launched this year.

Expectations are that Apple is developing the company's 5G antenna because Qualcomm's antenna thickness makes the next iPhone design thicker and using an Qualcomm Apple antenna encourages Apple to use more Qualcomm configurations that it develops are compatible with the antenna design. Apple needs to give Qualcomm more new configurations and graphics.
