The company said that consumers spent more than $ 23.4 billion on the App Store in the first quarter of 2020, of which about $ 15 billion was spent on Apple iOS. 3 billion dollars. Both figures increased by 5% from the previous year.

Non-gaming apps alone account for 35% of iOS consumer spending, while Android accounts for around 15%. Meanwhile, consumers spent more than $ 16.7 billion on games in the first quarter of 2020 alone. The United States and China have the largest share of iOS spending, but for Android, the largest share is in the United States, Japan and South Korea.

Android users spend the most out on games, social apps, and entertainment apps (especially Disney + and Twitch). For iOS users, they spend more on games, entertainment, and photo and video apps (especially TikTok, Tinder, and YouTube).

According to App Annie, app downloads exceeded more than 31 billion in the first quarter of 2020, up 15% from the fourth quarter of 2019. In the Google Play Store, downloads increased 5% annually to 22.5 billion, while IOS share of 15% per year to 9 billion.
