Google is testing discount cards similar to Apple's

TechCrunch reported on Friday that Google is testing a brand of debit cards to help users make and track purchases online and in stores.

This project is expected to be the new basis for Google Pay-Google Pay. Only physical debit cards that can be used for multiple purchases to make peer-to-peer payments online are being added. The presence of discount cards continues to grow. Not only does it provide the company valuable information about consumer spending, it can also help Google better track payments and purchases.

Unlike an Apple card that contains a full credit card, the Google project will use debit cards only with partners like Citi and Stanford Federal Credit Union. Even if the card itself is a Visa card, Google can extend it to other payment processors such as MasterCard.

But just as with the (Apple Card), Google debit cards are designed to be used like physical cards. Digital cards can be paid over the phone and provide a separate virtual card number for online retailers.

According to the TechCrunch report, Google tests its brand's smart debit cards and helps customers make, store and track online purchases.

The Google app has been reported to enable customers to easily track purchases, including tools like Google Maps and a huge database of retailers to call or search for previously visited stores. Customers can also use the app (Google Play) to block their cards in case the account is completely stolen, lost or blocked.

Note that the TechCrunch report does not say when Google wants to activate a debit card, nor does it verify whether or not a user has been accessed. However, in a statement on the website, Google said: "We are investigating how we can work with US banks and credit unions to provide smart audit accounts through Google Pay and help their clients benefit from useful insights and budget tools: keep the funds locked into the FDIC account." Or NCUA. Our main partners today are Citi and Stanford Federal Credit Union, and we look forward to sharing more details in the coming months. ”
