WhatsApp synchronizes chats between iOS and Android

When switching from Android phone to iOS phone or iOS phone to iOS phone, users worry about syncing their WhatsApp chat records, which is not as good as switching to a new device on the same platform.

Some apps claim to be able to do this, but WhatsApp can optionally allow you to sync chats between platforms.

According to the (WABetaInfo) article, WhatsApp has started to use the feature in the background and the article says the feature has been included in a feature that allows you to use one account from multiple devices.

Recent developments indicate that the popular WhatsApp allows you to use a single number on four devices. So, when this feature becomes available, WhatsApp will also create an option to sync chats between devices. However, you may need to use a Wi-Fi connection as you may need to upload and download large amounts of data for all chats, photos, videos, and other shared content.

(WABetaInfo) When testing the desktop sync functionality, it was indicated in the post that it also works on mobile devices. Once the transfer is complete, continuity is maintained across all paired devices.

Some other apps (like Facebook Messenger and Slack) already allow this. However, it is important to note that these accounts can be linked to your email ID, while WhatsApp is associated with a phone number.

Since this feature is still in the early stages of development, there is no specific release date yet.

WhatsApp is also experimenting with a new feature that allows users to quickly browse the contents of forwarded emails. To check for incorrect information, the company announced last week that it was displaying a magnifying glass icon next to emails that were frequently forwarded by a group of five or more people. Clicking the magnifying glass will search the message contents online so you can uncover general conspiracy theories or misinformation in the message.
