Sony announces the new Xperia 5 II

Sony continues to update its line of smartphones with its new Xperia 5 II to focus on photography and video.

This phone is the younger brother of the ultra-tall Xperia 1 II, but it is better in many ways as it has a high refresh rate of 120Hz.

The phone has a price of $ 950 and will go on sale on September 29. Sony said: This phone will not be shipped until December 4, 2020.

This phone (Xperia 5 II) has a screen length of 21: 9, but its size is relatively small, only 6.1 inches, equipped with a Snapdragon 865 processor and a 4000 mAh battery, and supports fast charging of 18 watts.

There is 8 GB RAM and two storage sizes 128 GB and 256 GB. If you need more storage, there's a microSD slot.

Sony has also added two front (stereo) speakers and a traditional headphone jack, but wireless charging doesn't happen.

For the Xperia 5 II camera, it has a rear view camera with three lenses of 12 mega pixels each. According to Sony's focus on photography, it is best referred to as equivalent focal lengths: 16mm, 24mm, and 70mm.

Sony claims that the Xperia 5 II is the first smartphone that can record 120fps slow-motion videos in 4K HDR.

Sony's Professional Video app gives you great control over video settings and group clips into projects for easy editing.

However, the Xperia series is known for its autofocus and shooting speed, as the (Xperia 5 II) has Sony's best autofocus feature that can focus on human or animal eyes and maintain clear focus at speeds up to 60 times per second.

Perhaps the most interesting imaging feature is that the Xperia 5 II can be configured as a docking station that can be connected directly to one of Sony's modern mirrorless cameras.

Although this functionality is not the same as a desktop USB tethering, it is faster and more efficient than the traditional wireless solutions provided by current cameras.

Sony offers an advanced game mode with useful features that allow you to adjust screen refresh rate, motion blur and touch response speed. It also has a Power Override feature that allows you to configure the phone directly via (USB-C). The cable runs without charging the battery, which reduces heat significantly.
